It's kind of a stupid argument since we have 6-10 regain in almost anything right now, so I don't really want to get into it... but even seeing 99 TP ~5% of the time bugs the hell outta me.
It's about to matter a lot more. /farewell Embrava

Well, considering standard Ukko's are at least 25% DA, the odds of that happening are really low.

With 25% DA, you have a 56.25% chance at no DA happening at all, then 4.75% chance at fist hit landing and second missing. 56.25*.475 = 2.67% chance you won't land a second hit at all.

Eh, I guess I'm wrong then.

Probably getting what, 65-80 (random guess, my parses are on another machine) weaponskills off in a full Legion Hall?

So you could probably say the 1 or 2 times you're coming up short you'd probably get hit anyway.

errr, assuming the Regain nerf does go through.

I'd honestly be more concerned about missing the first hit than worrying about second - eighth hits landing.

I use Light Belt and Gorget.
Ukon warriors with 22% haste dont count.
1) Yeah, don't use ravager hands for tp if you can't support them 2) I don't think light belt/gorget work with the empyrean ws?
People tell others on the lolsam forum to use belt/gorget for Fudo all the time

That's because a Single hit WS gets a bigger boost than a multi-hit. Gorgets only effect the first hit of a Weapon Skill.

Light and Shadow gorgets effect every hit on a multi hit weapon skill. I've confirmed this via a parse on THF using Soil and Shadow gorgets both inside and outside abyssea. Evisceration gained a larger boost with shadow by about 5%. Not a huge difference, but still, 5% is more and can be the difference between Yay i killed it and damn I wiped.

You pulled up a year old post to "confirm" something with false information that was "verified" in a poor manner? Kudos to you, man.

Yes because testing something on EP and VT mobs in Boyahda as well as EP and DC in Abyssea and EP in Dynamis over the course of a week and getting an average rate of increase of shadow gorget/belt over that of soil gorget/belt is false information being verified in a poor mannor.

Also had friends test various elemental gorget/belts on Tachi: Shoha, another on Stardiver, and another on Requiescat.

All tests showed a difference of damage of ~5%.

We don't simply take the forum's word as gospel when it comes to gear, we test the piss out of it, as should everyone. I'm showing what it did for us, go and do for you and see if you can find a difference. If you already have, then great.

You could just use this - BG Wiki

And then search for Light Gorget and click on 'fTP'
And then see this and realize you should let other people test everything because it sucks

cool and not to disagree but, can you explain why it beats the DA? sorry but i like to try and educate myself as much as possible on why things are better ^^;

also would brave grip be best inside abyssea then from the massive boost from atmas?

edit: also what are acceptable hands for when restraint is down? (no NNI or legion gear please)

Ignoring the obvious case of Mighty Strikes....

Claymore won't outparse Pole every time. Pole will do better on virtually everything EM and under.

My calculated DPS on EM targets with self-buffs only (zerk/agg/hasso/food):
Claymore: 238.9
Pole: 240.3

And for fun........
Brave: 239.6
Duplus: 242.3

And just because it's really annoying to see everyone spamming Claymore like it's the viable good grip for war:
loluthers: 239.1
Potens: 239.2

That being said...

On 99.9% of higher level things such as VW, Legion, etc., the general trend is Pole<Claymore<Duplus.

So, to answer OP...most wars are probably going to want to stick with Claymore a lot of the time, depending how much old content you do. But we should still carry around a Pole grip (until Duplus) for proccing and for when we're not too lazy to make multiple TP sets for different situations

Oh...and in Aby

Claymore<Pole<Brave<Duplus

EDIT: When BR is up. So this info is mostly useless. Stick to Claymore.

Actually...you're right...it is wrong.

It only applies when BR is up. So most of the time you'll want to keep Claymore on.

Thanks for making me have to do math right when waking up^.^

Depends what you're fighting and what buffs you have on.

Phorcys Mitts are usually my go to. But Augmented Huginn or Rav +2 are still useful when acc is low.

If accuracy is capped you might try Warrior's Mufflers +2. Although I have no math to offer you for those, they are relatively cheap and you can even farm the forgotten touches if you have the patience.

Avant +1 should also technically pull ahead of Rav +2 when acc is capped.

If at all...neither are much of an improvement.

Focus on getting Phorcys Mitts.

If you actually have the way to get Phorcys Mitts, I'd get Phorcys Korazin first. <_<

Use Claymore when spamming Ukko's under normal conditions, Pole when spamming Upheaval versus mobs with crit evasion like Bismarck and Morta, and Brave while zerging with Upheaval under Mighty Strikes.

Elemental Gorget. iirc Windbuffet belt is best? (Could correct me on this <_>; ) but otherwise elemental belt because of the acc also. I feel like there wasn't really much debate on belts, though.
