Hello, i'm almost halfway on my ukon so i just started thinkin about some possible WS sets, but well, i'm not sure what i should build, STR or DA Crit ecc.
Any suggestion is appreciated ^-^

1st set mainly focused on str could be like this :

http://www.ffxiah.com/item-sets/205175

2nd set with some more DA Crit% and Crit dmg :

http://www.ffxiah.com/item-sets/205179

I lean toward set #2.

Overall: Ditch Cerb Mantle; ditch Twilight helm, stick with Ravager's Mask +2

Inside abyssea: Zahak's Mail beats out Twilight

Outside abyssea: Twilight probably beats Zahak

Honestly mix and match between the two.

Ravager's feet will beat any other option, cleanly, 10% crit dmg is just sweet.

Zahaks mail will usually beat twilight full stop, as 3% crit rate > 5 str (acc being a moot point, or at least should be).

Restraint up > ravagers hands
Restraint down > heafoc

Not sure how the gorget/belt compare to other options.

Grim cuiass might beat out zahaks with berzerk down, not sure.

Edit: with Tikal's advice taken, the rest looks solid.

Wouldn't Ravager's Earring be better for WSing in over Vulcan's?

Well. 4 STR is an assload for an EAR slot but I stick with Ravagers for DA proc in WS. Just me though. Plus I cant afford a Vulcan's Pearl.

Many of you know Ejin I assume.. well I asked him which gear sets I should use for when I finish my Ukon 50/50 25/50 54/75 D: and not only did he give me the answers I was looking for he also had numbers to back up all his claims.. this is what sets I will be using once I get my Gax finished.

Zerk up:

Zerk down:

my TP set still needs a Zelus but I'll post anyway..

Ravager's mufflers' bonus stays on when you switch them off. I.E: TP in ravager's mufflers, WS in Heafoc always. Assuming you have 25/26% haste in gear already from other slots.

Strigoi ring beats vulcans. I'm 100% sure!
On a serious note, why are we going from Beir to Snow Belts depending on Berserk? And Gorgets too.
Don't see how the ftp modifier would be affected by Zerk... Maybe I'm too tired/out of FF mode.

I've been using Motenten's war spreadsheet for all of my numbers, but since i was extremely bored - i decided to math it out for you. In that process, i noticed that: if you have a gorget/ele belt on for either berserk up or down sets, it applies the ftp bonus to all WS regardless. So, when i would add beir and ravager's, it would gain the bonus from those stats AND the fTP bonus from the ele gorget/belt.

Redoing the math, it's clear the Elemental belt and gorget are better than Ravager's gorget and Beir +1, regardless if berserk is up or down.

VV/RR/AoA 293/281 STR, 1.9 cRatio, assumed 4.36 fTP with 30% DA and 15% TA, +48% crit damage.

(D + fSTR + WSC) * fTP * cRatio * crit damage bonus

beir+1+gorget: assuming 2% DA raises ftp by .014 from a base of 4.36

(131 + 22 + 148) * 4.374 * 1.9 * 1.48 = 3702.24

elemental gorget+belt:

(131 + 22 + 142) * 4.56 * 1.9 * 1.48 = 3782.7

Unless I've made another mistake; apologies for the previous incorrect advice.

ps: snow belt doesn't work for ukko's

1) Yeah, don't use ravager hands for tp if you can't support them

2) I don't think light belt/gorget work with the empyrean ws?

Wiki clearly says under Ukko's Fury -
Skillchain Properties: Light/Fragmentation

So I would assume it does?

That's because a Single hit WS gets a bigger boost than a multi-hit. Gorgets only effect the first hit of a Weapon Skill.

I think Wafflechan was meaning that they were advocating the use of the Light Belt/Gorget in particular, in response to what Altar had said about not thinking that they worked on Empyrean WS.

I could have sworn I read somewhere that the T3 gorgets didn't work and you had to use the basic element gorgets for the empyrean ws... hm

I can say 100% from WSing in Ravagers' Gorget and Potent for my first 50-100 WS then farming Light items. Huge difference in my WS now.

Probably my mistake.
I just use Breeze. Had it from before for KJ.
Plus it works for fell cleave, so saves inventory space.

I brewed him solo after I got Stage 2 Ukon. He didn't hit me once and died in like 15 seconds. 100% Belt (Was mainly for the Belt, but I wanted to brew something with my Ukon)

Ah, well ya if you're brewing they're both equally easy :)
Ya... I was going to facepalm at KJ, but then I remembered Ukko's is weapon specific, so if you're using, say a Widowmaker, outside of abyssea, and have mighty strikes up (AV Zerg?), then KJ is your best bet.
