Ukko's Fury Setup
If it's any consolation, there was some uproar on the JP forums recently over a video some guy posted where he was spamming self-light skillchains thanks to how it's easier to get a lower x-hit with Maschu. The Ukon owners were crying for a nerf. Can't say I have any interest in making one but its delay is one saving grace, at least.
How do you setup spellcast to use Mekira on aligned days and use AF3+2 when not aligned?
If you put this in your ukko's fury rule, it should work
Code <if Advanced='"%DayElement" = "Light" OR "%DayElement" = "Thunder" OR "%DayElement" = "Wind" OR "%Dayelement" = "Fire"'> <equip when="precast"> <head lock="yes">Mekira-Oto +1</head> </equip> </if> Well as i asked alittle bit back, im making a Maschu +2, and im tryin to figure the best TP sets with my gear, and this is what i came up with, and im not sure if im hurting myself or not trying to hold a 5hit build this way, Any feed back will be much appreciated.
5hit WAR TP Restraint up: 5hit WAR TP Restraint down: Also i have an Adaman Hauberk (yeah NQ ;-;) but it doesnt have the proper augments to really be useful yet. Edit: Didn't know if anyone would need to see Ws set, but this is what i think i have, i dont have the weapon finished yet so i havent tried anything, just going by what ive seen in the thread already. as far as Wanion belt goes, i dont have a windbuffet yet, so thats what i thought i could use. Those TP sets look pretty bad. Well, the restraint down one looks good, but the restraint up set I have a hard time believing would be better than a 6 hit. With the 504 delay on Maschu, you dont need STP on Adaberk either, unless you want to 5 hit. You could just use Rajas+Brutal+/SAM+Phorcys hat, during TP, Brutal only during WS, and end up with 103~ TP. You should also dump Wanion for Thunder belt, (or wind/light) if you dont want to use windbuffet. I'm honestly not at all convinced windbuffet is even ever better anymore.
For a few weeks now I've been meaning to do the math myself. But Phorcys body 7% WSD should bring WS belt up to basically being 1.07ftp, and with all the DA and stuff WAR has, Windbuffet should only be about the same, not just +.12, and then if you have fighters roll maybe windbuffet would not be better. And then when you don't have fighters roll, if windbuffet isn't very much of an increase it might not be worth carrying around. But anyway, I haven't checked yet, this is just one of those weird things I think about. (Originally it was assumed Phorcys body 7% WSD applied to all hits, the fact that its known it now doesnt is what could change which belt is better, not player error on the part of whoever originally did the math) Has anyone verified that Restraint applies to all hits and not just the first?
In the past people used Spirit's Within and other magic WSs to test it. Kaerin said: » Those TP sets look pretty bad. I'll just aim for the 6hit and do different setups more then likely using the item sets i saw on your account. WAR is far from a main i'll play, but i still wanna do it properly. lol ^^; Edit: also i see you said to use an ele belt, should i stick with the torque too or get something else if i use the belt? If you account for the fact that AF3 gloves don't add a bonus to Restraint from double attacks, the amount of haste+regain you have in certain(most relevant) scenarios, it's pretty often that those gloves can be replaced in favor of another. (If you don't need the accuracy)
Though, this applies mostly to Bravura. Offline

I'm not aware of any testing one way or another, just some spirits within stuff from http://robonosto.blogspot.com/2010/07/restraint-tentative-findings.html Asura.Stryger said: » Edit: also i see you said to use an ele belt, should i stick with the torque too or get something else if i use the belt? Just stick with the WS torque too. Nefarious could sometimes be better, but it's not really worth carrying that around if thats the only time you're using it. Rancor collar+cape do not stack sadly =[ Okay. Do you know if people have tested the "Enhances Double Attack Damage" on AF2+2 pants? I finished augmenting them last night but don't seem to have nearly as much time to test crap as I used to.

Thats right around a 3% increase to DA damage, but I cant find the test I saw for them, sorry. Offline

I want suggestion about those options I "actually" have:
Tarutaru w/o Armaberk or NI armors, "I know this isn't optimal" TP Set 01: WS Set 01: TP Set 02: WS Set 02: I'm asking for suggetions, not for "your set suck" or "you really need NI Armors or Armaberk". and a big "No thanks" to "Bullwhip Belt" Carbuncle.Anesthesia

Hello, I've begun FFXI very recently, and I am trying to build a competent WAR. I plan to begin attempting Neo-Nyzul fairly soon and I would like to know, assuming wins, in what order should I select the Phorcys gear for maximum benefit?
These are my current TP and Ukko's sets. Corrections for glaring, easily corrected mistakes would be appreciated. I have yet to begin Voidwatch, though I am looking for T1 shouts, and I am currently somewhat low on gil. I'm currently nation rank 4, and I will go for Warrior's Cuisses +2 as soon as I can farm Dynamis. TP: Ukkos: @Valentine. TP set 02 is better, I think. and I'd go with WS set 1, although I'm not sure if Ghillie+1 or Ravager's is better. You can get Hecatomb Mittens +1 too, with crit augs, not sure where that fits in, but I know it's used a bunch of times. And, Mekira-Oto+1 probably?
Oya, and Rancor Collar for TP. @Anesthesia. I'm really sick right now, and with a major migraine, plus I used up all my energy at the sets above. D: All I can really see right now is Rancorous Mantle, for WS, if you can? Cause low on gil etc. Carbuncle.Anesthesia

So I got kinda bored and I looked at belts again now that we know Phorcys body is first hit only. Why this matters is because the +7% damage on Phorcys body applies to Thunder belt, and not to Windbuffet.
Comparing Windbuffet to Thunder belt: Windbuffet belt at best is a 0.5% damage increase over Thunder belt, this is when you only have 20%~ DA during WS. To put this in perspective, this is a 10 damage increase at 2k average WS, and 15 damage w/ 3k average. If you have a good Fighters roll up, Windbuffet belt is not actually better, they're pretty much exactly the same. This is when you have around a 50%~ DA rate for WS. And strangely enough, Wanion belt (8 STR 8 DEX) actually beats both if you gain 1% crit rate from it, even if you don't get any fSTR. If Wanion belt gives +4 WSC and +1% Crit rate, it wins. If it gains 1 or 2 fSTR, it wins by more. Granted it doesn't by very much, but it still wins. (if Wanion gains 4 WSC and 2 fSTR and no crit rate, it does not win) On my server Windbuffet belt is 1.1 Mil+ If you think it's worth losing 1 inventory and 1.1mil for a 0.5% damage increase when you dont have fighters roll, don't need ACC and don't gain at least 1 crit rate from Wanion belt, be my guest and own one, but I'm removing it from my sets and calling it useless. For something so specific as to when it's useful, it better be free or not cost me 1 inventory or have some other good use. My official position now is to use Thunder belt for everything, unless you know you can gain crit rate through DEX. But this is because I don't think its worth -1 inventory and -1.1+ million gil for something that gains you at most 0.5% damage. Most events I do now consist of stuff where I need the ACC on Thunder belt so its better anyway. Offline

Sell windbuffet, put the money from the sale into Heca gloves+1, which you need to augment with Crit damage +4%. Other than that you're fine til you start earning more gil and finishing neo nyzul. You're pretty gimp, but that's fine since you're new and working on it. You'll need Phorcys hat and body first, and since you dont have Valk body or Armada, I would say Phorcys body first then hat. Valentine said: » These ones. But use rancor collar for the TP set, unless you cant deal with +10% damage taken, then you should use Agasayas collar if you need ACC, if you dont you can continue to go with Ravagers. But most of the time you can use Rancor and it's pretty cheap. For WS, switch to thunder (or wind) gorget and belt. Offline

I don't have sky access but will do the missions as soon as I get the nation rank for it, and then go for the gloves. Regarding Gil priorities, am I correct in assuming they should go something like this? Cursed Hands -1-->Augment Heca Hands-->Sweet Teas For Nid-->Cursed Hauberk -1-->Armada Augments-->Mars Ring-->Mekira Cells for PDT/MDT if no Mekira yet-->HMP + Rift for Ukon 99>Ragna for Legion Offline

Do Einherjar, Odin version 1, for E. Abjuration Body, not Nidhogg. You can do Odin v1 with 6 people, and it's pretty easy as long as 1 person is a NIN and can cast migiwari at 75%, 50% and 25%. The rest of that is fine, but I wouldnt bother with the ra/ex Mekira body unless you get it as a drop. Just get the +1 crafted version til you can get Odin v2 body. Use the leftover gil on a Phos belt!
And if youre pretty much just doing Legion, I would make Ragnarok 95 at least before Ukon 99. But it's probably more likely you won't ever do Legion, lol, so stick with the Ukon 99 and hope SE doesn't add more HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE -crit mobs. Offline

(btw I have Wanion Belt) I don't get the point of TPing on Rancor Collar :) +10%DT vs 5% crit?, really worth it? :) It's worth it, really. Swap to PDT set if you really have to, and use Agasaya's if you really need to not have that +10% DT. (Throat stab-esque moves etc)
