I really just wanted to say... stop claiming random crap in these forums. You haven't backed up any claims you've made (I know it's been said). Anywhere you post goes straight to hell because of it. Would think you'd have learned your lesson by now.

You may be right, you may be wrong, I don't know. I'm not all that great with the math involved in this game. I can do some, sure, but I don't know any formulas off the top of my head or anything.

I clearly pointed out that of the 2 new dDEX sets I posted the 134 DEX set would do more damage if it capped crit rate over the other one, and I did it when I posted them. I even gave a rough estimate of how much better it would end up being.


Which TP set did I suggest that was completely out of place? Was it the ones I listed as being alternatives to other TP sets that would do about the same damage? Or was it the TP sets I originally posted asking if they were still the best?

To me, when you're asking for input in a thread full of people heavily into ffxi math, being asked for the math to back it up isn't all that shocking. I don't really understand why you reacted like that. And you quoted it, so it isn't like Austar went back and changed it (not that I would expect that anyway.)

Or then when you were acting so proud of "your" sets, until it got out that you were reposting them... oh but you you approved them... Before all of this started, it seemed like random "this or this" type questions were answered with a lot more patience and politeness than I would have been able to muster (assuming I knew ffxi math like Night, Jinjo and Austar do.)

It's carry over from a previous thread I posted in once, then was attacked for 8 pages by all these people, which ended up getting locked, they came here and are doing the same thing, when I simply asked if there was better stuff, and posted some alternatives that could be easier for some people to get that wouldn't be much higher/lower in damage than what is currently accepted as the best/most reasonable.

If you simply look at it from the perspective of "Kaerin is posting these sets to show some stuff that would work slightly better/worse than currently accepted sets, and said so when first posted" then look at responses to me like this:


It's pretty easy to see who is attacking who here, even if you don't know the backstory.

If you're referring to this, I am under the impression that he is comparing the 2 dDEX sets I posted after reviewing the new items. As the only defining attribute he said was "Phorcys set" and "not-Phorcys set"


It's fine if Grim is better, I was simply posting alternatives that are about the same, that doesn't make it completely out of place or a bad contribution. I'm sure there's people out there who don't want to waste a bunch of gil on Grim+1 to gain 1% white damage, but have/will have Porthos laying around collecting dust and they can use that while trying to get Valk. I know I sure wouldn't waste the 5m gil on a Grim+1 if I didn't have Valk body.
