Any idiot would also be able to know when knowing the specific DPS of each set is a complete waste of time to care about when you can see 1 set is clearly better than another because it gains attack and extra attacks over another. This doesn't make any sense what-so-ever. I posted what is commonly thought of as the best TP sets to begin with, then posted alternatives to the pre-update TP set that was commonplace to use. I found this to be useful as some people are unable to get/augment armadaberk/valky body and they would have an easier time getting the other options. And the whole reason I did it, is because someone in game just brought it up, and I thought it could be fun to try and make something that did not require valk body but was better than the old standard, and I succeeded, twice, why you're trying to say this is a bad thing I can't really figure out though. It sort of is disheartening, sorry I always feel the need to fight back and it impacted you negatively. Kaerin said: » stuff I really just wanted to say... stop claiming random crap in these forums. You haven't backed up any claims you've made (I know it's been said). Anywhere you post goes straight to hell because of it. Would think you'd have learned your lesson by now. You may be right, you may be wrong, I don't know. I'm not all that great with the math involved in this game. I can do some, sure, but I don't know any formulas off the top of my head or anything. ANYWAY! If anyone could provide support for anything :X that'd be kewl... if not, wutevz, prolly somewhere else anyway. and! Most of us who frequent here are going to take Night, Austar, or Jinjo's word for things because they post correct information almost all the time. You, on the other hand... do not. If you can do the math that people are asking you to... sure, I'll take your word for it. If you don't want to, again... that's fine, just stop making claims about things that you have no proof for. or: I shouldn't say you haven't been right, since I don't know. You haven't shown any proof to what you've posted being right. My original wording wasn't the greatest I guess. Ramuh.Austar said: » Looks like Churchill did everything for you. Where exactly have I been wrong so far? PROTIP: I haven't been wrong yet if you actually look at the things I've said. Setting the record straight? You're the one who came barging into the forum making statements about opinions. Night actually took the time to do the math you so ungracefully refused to do. I am the last person who will take things handed to him on a silver platter and do just what everyone else thinks is best but if I dare to come into the forums I will have my math ready at hand so I can see if I screwed up. A little known fact, every single person here that does this 'unimportant math' actually cares about what is the best. PROTIP: You've been quite wrong; in fact if you had bothered to even look at the ws dmg formulas even once, you woulda known how 7% ws dmg destroys every other body piece period for ws. Also you tell them to prove stuff, so why should you get an attitude when they ask you to do the same thing? Fenrir.Jinjo said: » Kaerin said: » Where exactly have I been wrong so far? PROTIP: I haven't been wrong yet if you actually look at the things I've said. Except the WS sets. I clearly pointed out that of the 2 new dDEX sets I posted the 134 DEX set would do more damage if it capped crit rate over the other one, and I did it when I posted them. I even gave a rough estimate of how much better it would end up being. Fenrir.Jinjo said: » Except suggesting a completely out of place TP set. Kaerin said: » Ramuh.Austar said: » I'm curious to see the math behind your sets, Kaerin. And I would love to see you do anything other than try and condemn other people and act like an arrogant SOB when you have nothing to brag about. To me, when you're asking for input in a thread full of people heavily into ffxi math, being asked for the math to back it up isn't all that shocking. I don't really understand why you reacted like that. And you quoted it, so it isn't like Austar went back and changed it (not that I would expect that anyway.) Since then, you keep saying things like, "the 2 new dDEX sets I posted the 134 DEX set would do more damage if it capped crit rate over the other one, and I did it when I posted them," but then again those sets were for Mithras. Or then when you were acting so proud of "your" sets, until it got out that you were reposting them... oh but you you approved them... I don't know, but I bet I'm not the only one watching this thinking "WTF?" Before all of this started, it seemed like random "this or this" type questions were answered with a lot more patience and politeness than I would have been able to muster (assuming I knew ffxi math like Night, Jinjo and Austar do.) I'm not saying you're wrong - I'm not exactly sure what you're saying at all, to be honest. Just that there is a problem here, and I think it's you/the way you're presenting yourself. It's carry over from a previous thread I posted in once, then was attacked for 8 pages by all these people, which ended up getting locked, they came here and are doing the same thing, when I simply asked if there was better stuff, and posted some alternatives that could be easier for some people to get that wouldn't be much higher/lower in damage than what is currently accepted as the best/most reasonable. If you simply look at it from the perspective of "Kaerin is posting these sets to show some stuff that would work slightly better/worse than currently accepted sets, and said so when first posted" then look at responses to me like this: Fenrir.Jinjo said: » Except the WS sets. It's fine if Grim is better, I was simply posting alternatives that are about the same, that doesn't make it completely out of place or a bad contribution. I'm sure there's people out there who don't want to waste a bunch of gil on Grim+1 to gain 1% white damage, but have/will have Porthos laying around collecting dust and they can use that while trying to get Valk. I know I sure wouldn't waste the 5m gil on a Grim+1 if I didn't have Valk body. Grim. NQ.
