Straight from the official forums, posted yesterday.

Various aspects of Dynamis will be overhauled in the next major version update and beyond.

* Applicable Areas:

Dynamis - San d'Oria / Dynamis - Bastok / Dynamis - Windurst /
Dynamis - Jeuno / Dynamis - Beaucedine / Dynamis - Xarcabard

* Adjustments:

o Reservations will no longer be required to enter the above areas.
o New key items will replace the "Timeless Hourglass" and "Perpetual Hourglass" items needed for entry.

+ The key items need only be obtained once.
+ It will be made available at an affordable price via the Goblin NPCs presently dealing in hourglasses.

o Time restriction for entry will be changed to once per Earth day.
o Trigger items will be introduced as a new spawn condition for certain notorious monsters (NMs).
o Monster distribution will receive drastic revisions.
o Monsters will yield experience points (excluding certain NMs).

Sounds interesting, no?

Sounds like another attempt to put life into the game without having to actually develop anything new.

None of these adjustments matter at this point, and it doesn't look like they're adjusting Dynamis to make it more enjoyable. It looks more like they're trying to get over with it by letting people finish with their relics faster and call it quits on the event.

At this point my question is, why not simply let the NMs drop fully completed Relic weapons?

Don't hold your breath people. This isn't the update notes. It's just stuff in development. Aside from like fan fest normally before they would've waited till they had finished developing and then tested them and more or less finalized what was going into the updates before they told us.

This stuff will go thru a bit of changes first

o Trigger items will be introduced as a new spawn condition for certain notorious monsters (NMs). Wut? The test and fragment NMs? DL? {Please use the Auto-Translate function}

o Monsters will yield experience points (excluding certain NMs). Hurray for 10 Exp/Kill for the now underleveled mobs!

Accounts will be lost either way if they keep speeding up the "Game Over, Congratulations you beat everything in the game in 1 week" process.

As somebody that still actively does Dynamis on the regular I'm not too stoked. This sounds like each of these zones will just be a free-for-all to anyone with the key item to enter. I hope they implement it better than that, rather not have some bored douchebags coming in diagaing pulls and lotting everything. This is what WoE sounded like in the update notes before it was released and we all know how that turned out. I hope they do this smart, Dynamis is one of the last things I still enjoy doing in this game and I'd like my runs to remain linkshell exclusive. =\

With all the abyssea add ons and these new ideas re: dynamis and stuffs into ffxi, I see there is still life breathing into this puppy yet.

A couple of them are still good. Especially with the boost in ws in dmg and potential other ones. Especially when we get out of abyssea.

Why are people so sure this is going to end up like WoE? How do we know it isn't going to be like Salvage with actual instanced zones? I know SE has done some stupid stuff but I find it hard to believe they would make Dynamis a complete free for all. Well, here's hoping they aren't that stupid anyway.

I get that but Salvage doesn't require reservations either. Unless I'm missing something here I really just think it's gonna end up like Salvage/Nyzul/MMM.
