Reading the comments is usually the only reason I ever read a Yahoo article to begin with.. Their 'journalists' are *** horrible.. Don't know what they're talking about, can't type worth a damn and my number 1 pet peeve, articles lacking pictures, where the picture pretty much makes the entire article.. Such as world record pumpkin, it tells us how much it weighs and where it was grown, but lacks a pic, which everyone wants to see and the entire reason they clicked the article to begin with.

Bismarck.Dracondria said: » How many people died in the Maryland shooting? none that I read. It was at a highschool on the first day of classes. A 17 year old guy is in critical condition. Its unknown if the shooter was a student there but a guidance counselor tackled him and got the gun away. I read some girl got trampled a bit too from all the kids trying to get the hell out...

Ramuh.Sagittario said: » That's what happens when you make firearms legal. Legal, no. Extremely lax laws on obtaining fire arms, yes. Well yeh, basically every American owns a firearm at some point, but there are tragic shootings in America all year round every year, something has got to change. its the people that have to change

http://guncite.com/swissgun-kopel.html To be honest, I don't think our government could handle knowing that the citizens aren't armed. I think they would teeter dangerously close to a tyranny if they ever got the idea that we couldn't stand up and fight if we had to. Paranoid? Maybe. But I really just don't trust them. Hell even the family member who hunts uses a bow...don't get me wrong though bows are lethal too, just not as the same rate of fire. Lakshmi.Flavin said: » Ramuh.Sagittario said: » That's what happens when you make firearms legal. What? Would the victim be dead over a child being teased if there were no guns involved? I highly doubt it. It's all well and good saying the people have to change but that's not going to happen, putting weapons in the hands of those who are not responsible to use them correctly is a liability. People have been killing each other for as long as we have been here and long before guns were around, the weapons were just more primitive. Take away the option, it doesn't seem to do any harm to the rest of the world. Because you make completely faulty statements on the subject... you probably hear how bad they are from someone come to a conclusion in your head that guns are bad and they start going off about it... it's like alcohol... should we stop selling it because of all the people that die because of its consumption? What about bombs? Should we stop selling all ingredients that could possibly make one? Bombs can do a lot of damage... Lakshmi.Flavin said: » Odin.Liela said: » Fun article on guns. I think they would teeter dangerously close to a tyranny if they ever got the idea that we couldn't stand up and fight if we had to. Paranoid? Maybe. But they really can't be trusted. I think it would be split, both in citizens and armed forces. Especially if it was one political party trying to take control of the other-- so for example, if the democrats decided those darn republicans just didn't know what they were doing and decided to take over everything, then the democratic citizens and armed forces would back them while the republican citizens and armed forces would not. Likewise, if the republicans decided those stinky democrats just weren't cutting it, the republican people and militants would back them while the democratic people and militants would fight. Obviously that's a worst-case scenario and of course it's all such an opinion thing that I can't even call it a hypothesis. It's just what I think would happen in a civil war scenario, if in fact removing the peoples' right to arms would spark a tyranny and civil war. Anyways, the main point is, I don't trust the government to behave themselves in the event that they realized they didn't have to behave themselves. Did anyone point out that the evil producer in Sword Art Online has the same name as our new producer guy for FFXI?
