Random Thoughts.....What are you thinking?
Odin.Headstrong said: Leviathan.Novax said: Valefor.Slipispsycho said: I've tried Googling, I'm yet to find anything.. Any idea why I would get a severe splitting headache in the same spot every time, for months or years? Normal OTC stuff does nothing to help it, either. Going to a doctor is out, I dunno if it's just the area I live in, but I can find out more by Googling that going to a doctor, they don't do jack ***around here, at all.. And I'm not content to just throw money at them when they do nothing anymore, I'll go to the ER if it's life threatening, but that's it. Anyways, any ideas? It comes and goes every few days, it's nearly debilitating, in the sense I can't really do anything when they hit, just sit there and breathe and try to ride it out. I suffered from migraines when I was younger, and this doesn't feel anything like them.. When I'd get migraines, if they were severe enough I would actually get nauseas, in fact more than once they actually caused me to throw up.. Migraines felt more like a throbbing/pounding and went with my heart rate more or less, these are sharp and piercing, they do pulsate but it's at a much slower frequency than my heart rate. Moving my head also gives an immediate pain. Can't go to a doctor, can't afford to. Even the gold card is worthless because those doctors don't even care to begin with, you tell them a medicine makes you physically ill, and that it's not even doing it's job they just basically say "tough ***, take it or don't, doesn't matter to me.. NEXT!" We can't even afford to pay the doctors that are around here, much less go find somewhere hour(s) away that will do the correct testing, and pay them on top of it all.
I'm just more or less looking for ideas of what it could be so I could research the possible causes more.. EDIT: I've pretty much ruled out migraines or allergies. Tension headache sort of fits, but at the same time not. What I fear is it's actually an aneurysm waiting to happen. Valefor.Slipispsycho said: Can't go to a doctor, can't afford to. Tension headache sort of fits, but at the same time not. What I fear is it's actually an aneurysm waiting to happen. My mom had to go into the hospital for a few weeks this year, for some weird ***totaled up about 50k in bills which she barely has to pay 1% of. I guess there are places who take the bills of people who can't exactly afford the occasional 50k bill and help them. I'd investigate this wherever you are. We have a program here for people who can't afford actual medical treatment, called the gold card.. Sort of like super insurance, visits and medications are like 5-20 dollars or so.. Although I've already been through that system, and like I said, they don't give a damn, can probably blame all the people who abuse(d) the system just to get drugs, the doctor talks to you about 5 mins, finds something you're doing wrong, tells you to stop doing that (smoking for example) then gives you a prescription for some generic 'cure-all' type of medicine, or just tells you to get OTC pills.. I can do all that on my own, I don't need to make an appointment and wait 2 months to finally see a doctor for the information they give me.
How long does the pain from these usually last?
Varies sometimes for a couple of hours, sometimes only 10 mins.
They also seem to be spurred on by concentration, more pronounced when I'm trying to like focus on a game when it's hard to see what's actually going on (small characters on a small screen for example). And what spot of your head is it happening in every time?
If you follow the muscles in your neck to the back of your skull to where they thin out and you can mostly only feel bone (down the center) about 1/2-1 inch on the right side.
EDIT: If it matters, I had a really, really bad concussion in the same spot about 15 years ago or so. I basically fell for about 10 feet and hit the back of my head on a steel pipe. I basically fell for about 10 feet and hit the back of my head on a steel pipe. that'd be the occipital lobe, and that accident might be a reason edit: does this sound like what you're having? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atypical_trigeminal_neuralgia
Is what I found first, though even the atypical one sounded like it's more of pains towards the front/top of the skull. Only other thing I've found is that maybe you have something wrong here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atlanto-axial_joint >.>; Though, those sound way more serious, and I wouldn't know if they cause the kind of pain you're describing. Edit: to add in urls, and oh, looks like Irohuro found it maybe :o! The fact that they can easily be brought on by trying to focus on small images makes more sense now knowing what part of my brain seems to hurt/suffer from this.
Any clue of what the actual problem might be? EDIT: Yes, actually that sounds exactly like it. In fact I actually keep my windows blocked off and stay out of the sun as much as possible because bright light hurts in general, although I'd always attributed that to the eye surgery I had when I was about 4-5. since the occiptal lobe is where vision processing is done, i'd say be very careful about straining to look at things, that'd help reduce onsets
And now that I think about it, laying down and resting is the only thing that's ever seemed to help them. I'm not actually a doctor, but everything fits pretty much perfectly, I'd have to say that's what I have..
Thanks, I'll have to look more into it, maybe someone has found some at home cure/help that I could do.. Oh and thanks to Vyre for actually trying to figure it out Causes
Occipital neuralgia is caused by damage to these nerves. Ways in which they can be damaged include trauma (usually concussive), physical stress on the nerve, repetitious neck contraction, flexion or extension, and as a result of medical complications (such as osteochondroma, a benign tumour of the bone). One cause is vascular compression BAM! Off of wiki >.>; In fact... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Occipital_neuralgia Go read >_>; It mentions it being misdiagnosed as tension headache. PLD, Galka or Elvaan? DRK, Galka or Elvaan? DRK Elvaan.
Hey I have that too <_< in fact that's not the only neanderthal-like feature of my skull.. According to my wife I also have the forehead structure.. More DEX, AGI, and INT than Elvaan. I think my bun is funny, because neither of my brothers have one, at least as far as I know. I know for certain my older brother does not, not quite sure about my oldest. My dad doesn't have one either. Don't know about my mom.
I know the brother under me doesn't, not sure of my next to youngest brother. I only know of the one because I used to have to cut (including fading) his hair.. I knew the back of his head quite well <_< He told me if I *** up, he'd beat my ***, and he could too.

I guess this would be best as they both have the same refresh access, but PLD casts more consistently than DRK does, and the gap between elvaan and galka HP is negligible when it comes to PLD tanking, but would create a fairly significant damage gap in comparison to souleater. I should of been a Galka so I could go anywhere in the Quicksand Caves by myself."
Garka >> Elvaan D:
Only because of the cuteness factor tho <,< Galka and cute are two words that don't belong in the same sentence, unless it's like "Look at that Galka punt that cute little Taru"
Garka are just big tarus IMO >.>
Somehow I ended up being even more indecisive. Not sure how that happened D:
