Code They cheat
As I never took the time I had to look it up, it looks like the quest/bcnm eggs are completely random, and ones you breed could be somewhat controlled.
https://ffxiclopedia.fandom.com/wiki/Category:Chocobo_Raising#Obtaining_Your_Egg mounts are more fun anyway, but it'd be cool to have a rainbow chocobo
Got some pictures of the inside of my pelvis. Looks like someone took an ice cream scoop and went wild.
hold the onions and peppers and sure
easy, ask for no onions and hope they actually effing listen...
Not for the texture of them and the peppers or I wouldn't care. I'm in the mood for a nerd rant after seeing another random internet article mentioning the Lord of the Rings and why the Eagles didn't just transport Frodo to Mt. Doom.
I'm not bothered by many of the arguments that result from this topic, except for one. There's always at least one person who says, in a matter-of-fact tone, something along the lines of, "Sauron could have just sent orc archers to shoot them down." Nobody seems to question that logic, either. Okay, just how friggin' far do people think a bow can shoot an arrow? Here on planet Earth there are eagles that can fly up to 10,000 feet. The world record accuracy shot with a bow and arrow is ~900 feet and that was at an optimal parabolic trajectory, not straight up in the air. I get that it's a fantasy novel, but come on. Having chicago weather here in Austin all week. It iced over today, and was sleeting earlier. The city is frozen over, and no one is moving.
i've had to let the stray cat i feed in from the cold. it's that bad. poor lil guy. we only get a few days this cold, but the air is so dry and the wind is so bad it feels a lil brutal out.

The eye would just look at them and then send the wraiths after the birds. Yeah, that's one of the logical arguments. This really didn't have much to do with it. The great eagles (book versions at least) greatly outclassed the ringwraiths and their drakes by several magnitudes and in fact in the books they defeat several of them at the battle of the black gate. The only thing Tolkien ever said about not having the fellowship ride in on Manwe's eagles was "the story would be a lot less exciting" and potentially eluded that the presence of so many powerful dark beings in Mordor may have been able to dampen the eagles' strength (one other such written example was that the eagles could not see I to Morgoth's pita of darkness). Keep in mind that the eagles are meant to be almost avatars of Manwe himself, and even at the height of his 0ower Sauron is still just a Maiar, not a Valar like his dead master (Morgoth), and Manwe is the greatest among the Valar. In some of Tolkein's letters he discussed that Thorondor could have potentially 1v1'd dragons. Good points, but you somewhat contradicted yourself there in saying that the Eagles could have easily slain the Fellbeasts while also noting that the Eagles' strength might have been greatly diminished in Mordor (thus making them more susceptible to Fellbeast/Ringwraith attacks). Regardless, it's a fun conversation that requires a deep dive into LotR lore. I just got really sick of hearing the argument about archers. Even with modern technology, you'd have to be extremely lucky to kill a single Eagle at maximum altitude with a legion of high-power sniper rifles. But the eagles can't stay at altitude and drop anyone off unless parachutes have been invented.
And parachuting hobbits would be easy targets for even lousy archers. Question, is there maybe a magic equivalent of surface to air missiles? Full disclosure: I haven't read the books since the official paperback release. |
