There needs to be a mod that stops all respawning so you can just kill the world.
Probably is one, and it's easy to do yourself. There's reasons for some NPCs to be unkillable/respawnable though and untagging them breaks quests and some items.
Why do birds... just suddenly appear... whenever, you are near.
I liked back in Morrowind when it'd let you kill the important quest NPCs, and then give you a notification, "Yo Dawg, you killed this really important guy. If you save this file, you won't be able to progress with it anymore."

Divinity Original Sin 1/2 is kinda like that. You can kill just about anyone (if not everyone) as long as you're strong enough to do it. (Some of the NPCs are a really high level in the early areas.)
I made my character in 2 miss out on an entire quest line because I killed the original NPC that started it simply because I hated his attitude toward me. (He should have known better than to talk down to his soon-to-be God.)
I really like how you can do pretty much anything you want to anyone in that game.

This is annoying if they are shitty people and their essential flag doesn't fade after their quest.
Or if they are essential for no reason like some of the racist Nords in Windhelm. There are a few I want to kill.
Oh! And the opposing Stormcloak/Imperial captains who are forever stuck at their respective camps, and exiled Jarls and co. All forever essential.

One of my mods is causing the Ancient Nord Pickaxes to not function as normal pickaxes. You can mine stuff as long as a normal pickaxe is in your inventory and you'll appear to be using the Ancient Nord one but alone, it doesn't work.
