![]() horyshi- I'm in love with this game again Phoenix.Kojo said: » I see Ashe as the main character of FFXII, Vaan kinda annoyed me. So...why weren't they jumping around or anything later in the movie? I liked Balthiers delusions that he was the leading man personally

YouTube Video Placeholder It's a shame how much potential XII had if they simply arranged character priorities within their chosen protagonist. Everything else about XII gave me an RPG ***.
A very detailed, and expansive open world in a single player game that was reminiscent of FFXI, including non-random battles and even an occasional rare monster/NM and a bestiary that was actually relevant to the environment. The world chocked full of NPCs with relevant/changing dialog and plenty of subsequent side quests of varying magnitude in involvement and reward. And last but not least a storyline that pit warfare, political motives, and the nature of the world itself in the frontlines instead of the "antagonist is a ***, go stop him" formula that has worked so consistently in the past. Hey, random thought here. .dat mining is a violation of ToS, but no one was banned for doing so during the R/M/E shitstorm which was BASED on .dat mined info. Kinda funny, it implies SE was scared enough to set ToS agreements aside. Phoenix.Kojo said: » Asura.Ina said: » Phoenix.Kojo said: » I see Ashe as the main character of FFXII, Vaan kinda annoyed me. Way I see it, SE will enforce their ToS/EULA documents when the infraction is readily apparent and requires no effort or investigation.
At least it has seemed that way since the age old salvage dupe ban. Someone in my road has been listening to the same song in loop for the past hour at max volume. It's driving me insane.

I concur. This game could have been a perfect game for me..but the protagonists were not the issue for me..it was the badguys. I really like political story lines with big words I don't understand but honestly I can't remember who the big baddy was and what the bad guys were trying to do. Final Fantasy tends to like overly complicated story lines to begin with but I felt the story was almost an uber fail. the reason I love it was same as you for the most part because of the design, detail, sidequests and the almost-open-world-ffxi-esque-ness and the voice acting was a huge step up (with the exception of Ashe who always reminded me of that one character in hey!arnold who breathed heavy and would randomly appear behind Helga) I liked how there really wasn't any one main character. They made it seem like Vaan was but really you're just observing events through his eyes because he has no clue whats goin on..and then you have Ashe who is all princessy and Basche who is pretty important himself and Balthier only thinks he's important. I loved how they worked together. if only the story wasn't kind of a jarbled mess.
