I tried Kaht's way but some reason I died instantly.. my WoR was only doing 1.2-1.5k and then CW was 4k or less.. So I just stayed with my strategy for the friendly event til I can figure out what I'm doing wrong. :)

You're using Chain Affinity & Efflux prior to whirl, right?

edit: and less than 4k on whisker is pretty low, you're using BA for that as well I'm assuming? Your screenshot shows 6150's for your regular setup, so I'm assuming you are. Atma of the Ultimate will not increase charged whisker by over 2150 damage alone, so something else is amiss.

Yes, Before every WoR, I CA,EF Swap to Genbu shield and Shamshir. When I tried Your strat i Had MM , Lion , Horn atmas on. I believe that was correct. And that was the output dmg I did. And yes, I BA before every CW, and for some reason i was doing 4kish most of the time.. Idk why, I guess I just have to retry it and swap some stuff here and there.

This is only the beginning!:D

Just a thought* You think since I don't have any +2's on BLU is some of the reason why my Whirls is so low?

The only +2 that you'd be whirling in would be the pants. The rest is going to be str or mnd gear.

I'm willing to bet that you might have had a macro fail or something go wrong before because there really is no way to account for that large a difference other than the mobs being leveled up significantly.

since this topic is active I thought I'd sort of ninja in a question, it's sort of relevant as I'm building gear + sets towards CW and WoR but I've had a problem with this bit of spellcast:
The problem is that for the physical spells it is just switching in my "Magic" set gear (stuff in the else brackets) rather than my physical set or accuracy set for Heavy Strike, however my cure potency stuff is getting swapped in for cure spells.

Logic error. It technically is processing the if statements for the physical spells correctly, but then it gets to the last <if> rule and fails, so the <else> gets processed and since it's the last set processed it'll overwrite your previous equip. Set up your <if Spell=""> rules as an <if></if><elseif></elseif>...<else></else> chain ending with your current <else> rule.

The +2's will help, but I wouldn't say that they are necessary. Work on upgrading your boots first and foremost. Not only will it provide higher MAB, but I believe the increase on your BA modifier increases as well (talking about for whisker here).

This is not entirely true - under the affect of chain affinity you'll get a damage bonus from Mavi Kavuk +2.

I would say if the Artemis medal is giving you 6MAB or more it would win. Though it all depends on how much MAB and DEX you are already using.

My Diamond ring has 6 INT, aside from the +2 hands/feet I need would there be any other pieces that make a big difference on CW?

Taking out the rings and replacing them with dex/mab rings. Replacing the back/waist with dex/mab.

Thanks Kollosis, just assumed INT was better than dex.

Morning fellas!

Last night I was KI farming and I went back to Kaht's strategy with minor changes. And it worked perfectly.

Atmas were MM, Ultimate, Lion

I would gather the whole camp, 15-20 mobs depending where the nm was roaming around.

Get to camp > CAEF > WoR(took most of them down to 60-65%) > Ant. Burst > Yawn(was fighting undead atm) > then i would debuff/buff of course > CW.

My CW's were still hitting 5200-6k with the new set up! I will post pics soon if anyone needs.. or if anyones interested in PDT set or CW set..

Hope this helps out!

Q. Can you CW Dolls in Altepa.

A. Yes it is possible.. Obviously not a recommended place to camp for obvious reasons.. Dolls are the most camped spot for xp in the whole game..

But.. if you manage to get there when no ones there.. the xp the dolls give on top of the dom ops can get pretty nice.

I was working on my agi/evasion shamshir trial (300 plantoids) last night in abyssea altepa. Luckily the Fear Dearg camp was pretty much empty. On one wind day I was able to knock out 250 of the 300 required kills using a whisker burn strategy, and I took about a 10 minute break in the middle to help my wife bring in groceries and put them away. (I'm guessing I could have finished all 300 otherwise)

I'd round up almost every mandy at the pond, dream flower, charged whisker, and then whirl of rage to finish them off. I'm honestly surprised how quickly I was able to finish all the trials for the agi/evasion shamshir. Wind weather is pretty common across vana'diel, and in the event that there's no weather readily available you can usually knock out a ton using a whisker burn strat in abyssea.

Wow I never really thought about that, Using whisker burn to knock out trials.. even though i would pick up straglers fighting one mob at a time working on a trial and finish for them.. It didn't even hit me haha.

I've never done whisker burning for exp but a couple of things I'd watch out for that are probably mentioned in here somewhere.

You only get exp for the first 8 mobs killed. You're going to want to make sure that you either only pull 8 at a time or just don't expect to get more than that and rely on exp boxes to increase the exp/hr. You can also opt to just gear whisker to only get them low and kill them off in small groups with conal spells but I honestly think this will take just about as long as pulling twice.

In a pure whisker burn with capped azure and pearl you'll almost always get a restore chest from 8 mobs and then can pull another 8 instantly without waiting on BA recast.

Some mob types cap higher than others for exp. I recommend doing a mob type that others are not killing though since if they level them up too much you might not be able to one shot them and plus, competition sucks. Mobs that aggro magic or sound are best for fast pulling since you can just spam cocoon while running and not actually have to pull manually or run by each one.

I liked bombs in grauberg since they aggro so well and are generally left alone. But watch out for the chariot. I don't know if there is a dominion op guy near there or if there is even an op for bombs since I didn't do it for exp but if you can get a good camp with mobs that aggro easy near an op guy that has an op for it, then you should be getting pretty good exp.

so it shows exp in the log for 15 mobs i pulled, yet i only get exp for 8 of em? was this some new update i missed?

As for mobs to pull. Try for something that aggros by sound a aggressively links. Also magic aggro is nice, you just run around casting spells to get them to come right at you. I use this when i do spectators in uleg or surveyors in altepa.

If you have good key people bombs in vunk is beautiful. Stand in middle pull right side CW key person has a clue as to how game works pop 2hr chest or use temps items re buff do left side rinse repeat. But a good key person not the normal key 3 boxes afk, never open temp items cause i'm not using them, repeatedly say the same KI over n over again types

Did you actually "pull" them? Perhaps there is a difference between simply aggroing and acting on the mobs but I have ss's of pulls with 25 mobs but only exp for 8 so if it was a glitch then I'd be happy to hear your experiences as I may use this for leveling others at some point.

Check your exp or merit point level pull 20+ mobs and then check it again. Try it twice, once where you act on the mobs and once where you don't. I'd be glad to know why it does it sometimes to me.

It's been like that for ages, you will only get xp for the first 8 mobs that you kill. If you're doing the pulls solely for xp, pull 8 at a time or split the pull into sections.

So Did some experimenting last night about this contradiction that I did not know about and I'd like to confirm on my part that you will only get xp from a max of 8 mobs.

No matter how you pull them, If more then 8 die simultaneously, there will be no xp for the remaining kill shots. Atleast i have yet to find proof they do. However chests do still drop from them which could lead to xp chests.

what I did was Whisker'd Dolls..
Pulled 5, Whisker > they die > new page.. rinse repeat.. after 4 pulls I was already over 50k/hr so who knows. They were already Checking VT to me and parties were out killing.. so they were already strong. Just don'tknow how long you could last out there.

But thats just my feedback guys, Hope everyone has a good morning!
~Ciao

This has been asked countless times. Look at all the gearsets posted for everyone's charged whisker builds. Do you see swords in any of them?
