Stoneja?
according to altana viewer it seems that its just magic defense down, stoneja = eath defense down
first i thought of when reading stoneja is.. i think maybe they made a AOE which dont get lower when hitting multiple targets, so if 1 or 5 allways do same dmg to each^^ and gave it another name to ge different from -aga.
Is this conversation even really happening?
Edit: Play an old FF and combine it with common sense. Strong AoE magic damage. There is even a picture of Waterja. Debuffs don't look that fancy. For all we know, the damage would be the same for all -ja spells.
Like AMIIs Lets just hope that they are either cheaper than AMIIs and/or more powerful. I think it would be a poor choice of naming to have Raspga as Stoneja, but who knows, it is SE after all. =/

Odin.Blazza said: So why not just call it Stonega IV if that's all it is? Although I have to say though, Mindi's suggestion is not a bad one in that regard. For this reason. I thought on the same lines as her with damage not lowering on multiple mobs but also in the form of an AoE version of AM. AM and -ga have different formulas and I'd put my money on that being the sole difference. AM reduces the resistance to the corresponding element in the cycle too (much like ninjutsu) . I'd assume That these new -ja Spells are
-AoE (yeah thats 100% -inflict a DoT -inflict a something down -Cost 15~20 of your MP base -Somewhat short cast, ~5-8 seconds Good news is... Aspir II Stoneja!
In all seriousness, i think these spells are just player versions of ga4 :/ When i first saw this i went with the possibility that it will be like a stonega spell that doesn't get weaker based on the number of mobs it hits also. If it hits 2k, it hits 2k on every mob.
All you guys with DoT added effect on stoneja can gtfo jinxing us ! NO NO NO NO NO D:<
Badass AoE is all I care about. I don't want some badass AoE that puts DoTs on making it useless for AoE/Sleepga strats, thus making me go back to -aga3 lol Not that the situation happens often, but still. If I want DoT, I'll DoT it myself.. Or get the RDM to do it :p If there has to be some added effect.. I hope it's more like, an enfeeble. AoE AM2? XD
Hope you like spending like 700 MP on one spell. Aspir II BLM/RDM Refresh, Convert, Aspir, Aspir2^^ Mp shouldn't be a huuuuuge issue at least now :D im so curious about break spell, , it would be amazing in ballista einherjar and dynamis to use breakga with /sch
NIN-ja?! :D

Said that something this intense wouldn't be able to be implemented until monsters got stronger though. Maybe this is my suggestion in fruition!

Hopefully the other blm is out of frame :D Think we can all agree that it will most likely do something extra other than dmg. Whether that is -resistance to specific element, DOT or some added effect who knows.

Bet it's like the additional effect of enspell II's, You Stoneja, deal heavy damage and weaken resistance to wind type spells.
I'm willing to be it's like all ja spells in the FF series.
EX: Fire Fira Firaga Firaja Maybe not though. I can never predict SE's intentions >.> I wouldn't at all be surprised is Stoneja is just Stonega IV and with the update they also change the name of the spell when monsters use ga IVs to Stoneja, Waterja, Aeroja, Firaja, Blizzaja, and Thundaja.

It could just be renamed as mobs (notably Bakka) cast -GA IV quite fast, Bakka seems to cast ga IV faster than a tier 4.
So making MP cost changes or increasing cast time without weakening mobs.
