On thf in general? I can't use my evasion set to its full potential until I cap Evasion. Any tips or pointers on leveling it? the quicker the better!
Thanks!

Thanks! /dnc and go solo some EP+ mandies. Depending on what your actual evasion skill is at, there is the tree or den of rancor
Edit: darn somebody beat me so i'll post something useful.

Old video is old, but its still a pretty good way to do it. Just use the Greater Colibri at nyzul isle bird camp Cerberus.Smackster

That looks easy and cheap... and semi-quick :D
thanks for the help I initially got my THF to 75 before /dnc was available. How I levelled evasion was by going out into the woodlands /whm and basically let a colibri rape me until I was in red HP and then hide XD Wait for the hide timer, try again ._. It worked, but I died a few times along the way.

Yeah, death isn't too big a deal in my part if it means quicker skill ups. I'm ready to go do Charby, Ungur, and such :D
Charby would be really good for skill ups, but also really hard to tank without capped evasion unless you bring along a brd and rdm
I'd suggest going /whm and loading up on MP gear. You can cure bomb yourself while it's hitting you to prolong having to use hide. Also having reraise is always a bonus XD
Imo /nin would work better, as you can skill up even if it hits shadows (think) its been forever since I skilled up evasion.
I remember trying /nin and I didn't really get many skill ups with the shadows. Maybe I was just paranoid though? haha.
I only suggest /whm really for the reraise. HPing will lose quite a bit of exp if you're careless. (or laggy in my case) I guess another method you could use would be to stand next to a zone letting something hit you and then zone when you're in the red HP. (If you cant find an open bird camp?) :3 Ramuh.Sekundes

I don't know if this helps but I've capped evasion on my NIN killing marids in Wajaom Woodlands >_>

Yeah the problem with the zone tactic is the lag between you seeing yourself zone and you actually zoning. You'd have to zone with like 250~ hp just to assure you are alive when you load the next area.

If you are not worried about death you could find a zone with VT-IT enemies near the zone line (in my case it was Beadeaux (S) with the Star Ruby Quadav in the entrance) and aggro an enemy and zone it before you die, naturally this could get messy if you lag while zoning though.
Edit: the enemy must be able to take swings at you so don't outrun it. anyone tried to skill up evasion in abyssea? Will hide work on those mobs? I'm finding post 76+ to be a *** to skill evasion. I miss my cap.

Not on purpose, but over the course of a mandy party in Tahrongi I did get about 20 eva levels (~250-270 iirc) just by randomly drawing hate. The mob levels are so high that I imagine that this applies to any job. Jump in a besieged, use wing for tp go find a bunch of unclaimed mobs use the fanatics/fools drinks which ever one negates physical damage then cyclone. Can get levels pretty quickly. Home point and do it again.
I capped mine by going to zones with IT mobs, as /nin, attack and when low HP zone out, went up crazy fast.
Easily the best way to cap it for me (as 75 thf) was to go to Meriphataud Mountains (S). It's been a while, but there is a single Yagudo Sentinel between this one passage as you head SE from the northern entrance.
I think it's the passage where you can cut through the mountains from west to east as if you were going to the Sanctuary. Anyway, the Yagudo is 76-78 and you can hide and it's a monk. It's easily the fastest skilling up I did. Sylph.Decimus said: Easily the best way to cap it for me (as 75 thf) was to go to Meriphataud Mountains (S). So I run up on it, hit Steal to draw its attention (and maybe get an item), then run circles around it until I get red HP. Then I pop Hide, go heal up and, when timer is ready, repeat. Equip relic weapon, and go fight chigoes! xD

the best way i found to cap eva was to aggro spiders in the Boyohda Tree between the zone to Dragon's Aery. get health to half then zone.
Phoenix.Darki said: thf/dnc can solo charby? I personally have tanked charby 80thf/nin w/ evasion gear. Had red mage there for debuffs, and a couple cures when tp move hit me :/ wouldn't recommend /dnc Besieged + Fanatics + Diaga
