In most leagues of any sport - there's a 'slaughter rule.' (for ones where the clock stops on fouls and stuff)
If the other team is winning by x amount (usually a high amount), the clock keeps running. No point in standing around when a team is getting owned.

No idea, but it reminds me of the No Child Left Behind policy of our government school systems. If a kid flunks 4th or 5th grade, they advance him anyway. And we wonder why Georgia has had some of the worst graduation rates in the nation -_-

Its the parents that want to protect there kids for not feeling like a loser. Yet some parents make there kids feel like ***so thats why they turn emo! so its not the kids fault, its mostly the parents raising them.
