believe it or not, some people have these things called "linkshells", damn inventory clutterers, and sometimes, these "linkshell groups" will do things in a group setting, instead of alone with their 2box mule. In order to breeze through the content, they may opt to team up, or do this thing called "help someone get a Wyrm Beard", and kill 10 Wyrms in 15 minutes in a group as opposed to 2x5 wyrms in 20 minuets each, by having everyone exit the battle immediately and leaving one person to open the chest, so the rest of the group can immediately enter the next fight. Its called time management.

since its not 100% drop you need multiple orbs to save time and do many runs at one. In addition they are also looking for Fafnir's pop item to either use or make money with.
