the wierd shaped d/dx means the partial with respect to x... but there is only x, so that just makes it the derivative with respect to x. So, first things first, chain rule: (the Derivative of the inside multiplied by the derivative of the outside without changing the inside.) The inside is: 7x - pie/2. pie/2 is a constant, so the derivative of the inside is 7. Now the dervaitive of the "outside" is the derivative of sin(7x-pie/2) without worrying about the 7x-pie/2 part. The derivative of sin is cos. So that leaves us with cos(7x-pie/2). Putting it all back together we get that the derivate is: 4 * 7 * cos(7x-pie/2) or 28cos(7x-pie/2). Now solve it. X = 0 so we get: 28cos(pie/2). pie/2 is equivalent to 90 degrees. cos(90 degrees) = 0. So finally we have 28 * 0 = 0. The answer is 0. Hopefully I didn't make a mistake.
