After people getting banned for so much less, how can anyone be surprised GM's are saying fighting a mob in a way that all of TP moves fire off with no one taking damage is against the ToS?
It probably depends on the GM but i'm not surprised by this. SE has always had strange rules with the Kiting/Terrain thing.
Some fights they let it go, same with pinning, its "okay as long as when you stop, the mob can hit you".
Either way, Its kinda BS, but at the same time, Amhuluk is not a hard NM, so we'll just have to suck it up and fight it the mans way.
That GM deserves a pink slip.
Let's see ... people fight Dark Ixion this way, they fight VNMs this way, they fight all 3 zone bosses in Abyssea-Misa Coast this way ...
GM probably just sexually frustrated or maybe 1st day on the job.
*Although the utilization of terrain in battle in itself is not a violation, abusing terrain in the manner described above, in any area, is considered a violation of the user agreement and we ask that you refrain from doing so."
By this logic, the amhuluk strategy is totaly legal, as the dragon is not being pinned or kited in any way. Terrain is being used to give a height advantage, nullifying AOE attacks WHILE STILL TAKING MELEE DAMAGE. This would qualify as "the utilization of terrain in battle" and not "enabling players to take almost no damage in battle."
what's sad is that they made it very clear that this was okay in update notes.
"- In Abyssea - Vunkerl (I-8), it is possible to abuse aspects of the terrain in order to immobilize certain Notorious Monsters, enabling players to take almost no damage in battle.
*Although the utilization of terrain in battle in itself is not a violation, abusing terrain in the manner described above, in any area, is considered a violation of the user agreement and we ask that you refrain from doing so."
Of course its an exploit. Tanks don't get hit with anything but spells and lolmelee attacks. It's tp moves have no effect at all to anyone. Why wouldn't this be an exploit? I do this too tho :p
Yeah i wish i screenshotted when to him that there is no way it's an exploit, and apparently we were Stopping his abilities to attack, when all it does is outrange an AOE, Hemayad, dont gms have better things to do?
