Its a glitch because that is the 0,0,0 Co-Ordinates on the map (Same in South Sandy present), its also the same point you appear in your Mog House at, its basically lag and the game not realising you have left your Mog House. If you hang around there you'll see lots of dead Wyverns and dismissed Avatars too for some reason.

@ Remoraforever: The dead Wyverns and Dismissed Avatars don't stay there long. Also, depends on your connection, I rarely get the glitch at my Girlfriend's, but get it a lot at home.
