PLD + Hauby, yay or nay?
I used Hauby until I got Hydra Haubert. And I'm willing to admit Hauby+1 will still edge it out in a hand full of situations, but... Epeen takes precedence as well as inventory +2 (Takes the place of TP and Emnity)
Got a question related to this, kinda.
Is hauby+1 allways better than homam body for pld tp, or just when you'r hitting for 0? Same amount of acc, but homam offers some HP and a small amount of triple attack, wont this be better as long as you arent hitting for 0? Offtopic questions: Would af feet or askar feet be better for a blood-tank set with no other shield-skill in it? Technically Homam is a tiny bit better when you're not hitting for 0, yeah.
Since Paladin has low Attack though, almost always better to go for the Hauby+1. EDIT: AF Feet normally. EDIT: AF Feet normally. What kinda situations would askar be better? Other than using a staff, or only then?:P the other case for homam over haub would be if you had excalibur, since it it's self gives +20 atk and the extra hp can add to it's additional effect damage.
hmm, I guess I'd use askar in an enguaged-idle turtle build, would still macro af for ichi and haste for ni though.

* A shield block dramatically reduces one hit's damage which does have advantages over a small overall decrease in damage (can save your life whereas an overall decrease is unlikely to comparatively given appropriate support). * A shield block prevents spell interruption and gives you TP * 10/12 Shield Skill is pretty hefty and since you will not cap block rate on anything worthwhile, never going to be wasted etc. EDIT: Basically I would only use them in one of the following situations: 1. No shield (duh) 2. Kiting 3. Nonengaged idle (to soak up magic damage as well - though if I suspect a hit is about to come through (one shadow left on a DAing mob for instance), I'm gonna idle in Gallant+1 for the potential hit). 4. Cure cheats 5. Looking cool. for straight tanking, I think af might still be better than askar unless you know your shield proc. rate will be capped w/o them.

Unless it's going to ws automatically for me, I'm still only pressing one button to do it in both situations. The most it can do is match my current efficient. I don't see how it could expand on it, when me and it would do the exact same things (pick gear based on the situation). And it seems it doesn't handle the mob's situation either, I'll change ***up depending on what kind of debuffs the mob has and again, I really do love to swap something like white tathlum in when I know having it on for that last round would make the diff in hitting 100tp or not. If I just wanted to play basic and not go into the level of complexity that I do, then I'd def go out and get spellcast. White tathlum.... Youre giving up L.kaman +1, Cerberus bow, etc to have store tp +2 in? With -2 enmity? HUH??? Any situtation where you are HNM tanking seriously, youre going to have most likely a joyeuse + haste + 2x march which means youre spamming swings as it is, that Store TP +2 doesnt do ***for you. just tossing this out there for everyone but tiger was talking about his mnk most likely...since he said kick attacks...and he is always his mnky....dont think he even has pld lvld Quote: Terror, Petrify, etc etc Situations as well. Doesnt work for terror, but i LOVED it in dynamis- bastok Sand Mantle |
