Are there any websites that show which nation controls each region at any given time?

You would have to put a bot in-game, on every server, to continually check the status and report it back to the website, which would both be a Terms of Service violation and also a tremendous pain in the ***. =D

So I don't think so.

Well, it only changes once a week. So, really it would just be a matter of getting one person from each server to report it once a week. Similar to the guild pattern system on here, but even easier as it doesn't change everyday.

Oh, well yeah, user-reported would be easy, but I'm not sure anyone does it yet.

a bot on every server polling in-game data... isn't that how FFXIAH monitors auction house activity?

I dont think thats how is done, the admins have there secret voodo witchcraft that only they know on "how to" do it pretty sure they discuss something, about it in some thread, but back to question, maybe there should be a site but again like Ayesha said just check your map.

Yeah, I know about checking the map. That's what I do. My thing is that I have very limited time to play on any given day. However, I have a decent amount of downtime at work where I have internet access, but can't actually play FFXI. So, I like to carefully plan exactly what I'm gonna do before I log on. Knowing what regional vendors are going to be open in each city would help this process a lot.

The downside to this is that with the information more accessible, more people might be keen to where you're getting your deals. If more people use the regional vendors, stock could get depleted and price will increase, right?

At any rate, I second this as a good idea. As suggested, would be easy to implement if user-supplied.

Um, actually no lol. Regional vendors are just like normal vendors and do not run out of stock or change prices like guild npcs. They are dependent on fame just like any other npc in that city too. The only thing that differs between regional is when they are open.

Some altruistic soul could start an entry on wiki for it under:

http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Conquest

It would just have to be manually updated like the Besieged record:

I like the user reported idea. :o
Since there doesn't seem to be anything like this at any other site atm, maybe move thread to suggestions?

Back in the day when we did Exp.Force for fun, there were sites out there that documented each server. At one stage I was doing a visual map with regions under control with historical values of influence just for Lakshmi. I lost the code in a HDD crash, so I didn't keep going with it.

Yeah, it actually shouldn't be too hard to just take screenshots of the regional map, splice them together and post it online. I was actually thinking of doing that for my linkshell forum, but--well, RL got in the way ^^;;
