After the Travesty that was Ace Combat: Assault Horizon (Or as I like to call it, Modern Warfare with a Zaxis of movement), I found myself wondering why I ever liked that series.
Then I remembered, Ace Combat 02-06 design philosophy: Make something unbelievably cool happen, then put you in a *** jet. Perfect.
[Note: Stick it out to 3:10, it's long, but worth it. In the game, this is actually perfectly choreographed to breaking Gracmeria on the Horizon.It's one of those divine spark moments in gaming, where they bring interactivity, Music and visuals together in a way only gaming can.]

I always liked this one and listen to it at length whenever it comes up on my randomised Playonline launcher BGM...

i have both ToD1 and 2, love them both. i really like Motoi Sakuraba's style.

Man, what the *** ever happened to Colony Wars? (Space shooter genre period...?)
My all-time favorite FF piece is the main theme. I'm not sure why the prelude is considered more iconic except for the fact that it's in every game instead of in nearly every game. I don't even care for the prelude very much... iconic perhaps, but not a great piece of music.
This song will more often than not bring a tear to my eye, especially if it catches me off guard.
Anything from Beatmania IIDX, for instance...
Oh man... I'd listen to this for aaaages each time I logged in for months when I first started. Good times.
