Infinity Ward Scandal
Apparently a number of lead developers at Infinity Ward, the Activision-Blizzard studio responsible for the Call of Duty series, have been fired. The company, along with the US Securities and Exchange Commission is investigating "breaches of contract and insubordination," and the matter "is expected to involve the departure of key personnel and litigation."
o_O no wonder I stopped playing that camping game.

where's my hot fries! this seems intresting enough to keep up with. lol, Activision should have a ball with more Treyarch MW games because fans totally love those. Whatever it was must've been huge because IW's Modern Warfare is one of their top 3 for Activision/Blizzard. I wonder if they were trying to nab the IW team and get out from under Activision.
This all reminds me of the last episode of Mad Men in Season 3. lol Seraph.Caiyuo said: lol, Activision should have a ball with more Treyarch MW games because fans totally love those. I bet the insubordination was the fact they suggested dedicated servers for their next game. ;) Lakshmi.Holman said: o_O no wonder I stopped playing that camping game. Ya since they made hip-fire pretty lame i'm gonna laugh if this is a publicity stunt to promote their next game or something
A bunch of 30 sumthins with too much money...let the brats fight it out...if they don't have sigificant proof of their firings, I see a court legality issues....
Oh well w.e [Ugh, removed my post after reading more about SEC and executive terminations.]
The SEC being involved implies this is a real case, likely involving fraud of some sort, or a high-level contract breach. You can't manufacture a "publicity stunt" that involves the US government.

i saw something about this on the ticker on G4. i was curious, but not enough to figure it out on my own.
Good maybe now they will hire people who know what the hell a dedicated server is and stop the pussy matchmaking >_>

If anyone's keeping up with this or still interested, Joystiq has a breakup tag dedicated to all the recent IW news, the most notable being that recently up to 9 Infinity Ward employees have resigned so far and the heads at Infinity Ward (that were originally fired by Activision) at newly setup Respawn Entertainment (. . .) are now partnered with Electronic Arts.
