i have been trying to log on to ffxi for like 2 days now and i cant get through, i keep getting those stupid error messages that say something about the server or that my stuff isn't working right. Is it really my connection and stuff or is the servers just getting slammed for the past 2 days?

probably call SE to fix the issue i had the same problems in the past they had me put a bunch different codes to unblock ports in the pc x.x but thats if ur usin a router if not im not sure what it could be other than unpaid month lol

If you live on a college campus, sometimes they block stuff. You can send them an e-mail and be like "Hey guys I can't login to a game I like playing". They should fix it.
