ffxi official site has a twitter like feed going. they are saying that they are putting the lowest populated servers with the highest. idk why not lowest with lowest, probably least amount of eg conflict then as well. also saying they are trying to balance play for timezones by going from 32 to 24

Same thing as transfer really, if the names taken when you're moving you pick another

lol. Well we're the smallest server by characters on this site, and the last census we were the smallest. So you're getting the smallest server! It's a shame we're not keeping the Garuda name, although this once-in-a-gametime chance to change my character name for free just can't go missed!

People on Asura are actually intentionally taking names from Pandy and making them on Asura to make gil. It's disgusting.
