I have done the in-game dating, with someone on these forums for those who remember, and we eventually dated IRL. We only lived 3 hours from each other and made the trips. It was a good relationship, it ended because of stupidity, not involving the game or the the other person.
I would suggest it to anyone with the intentions of meeting. What is a better way of getting to know someone than on the internet where they can be honest. But you also have your deceivers.
And who knows, it's always fun to have someone in game, adds a little spice. Who knows, roll-playing may be your thing.

I had to totally reorganize my agenda around this. :<
-Cutting hair this Friday so it would be "fresh-off-the-plate" by the time the interview rolls around.
-Buying a proper set of interview clothes. Note to self: Break into shoes ASAP
-Go to at least two mock interview sessions with my medical career counseling.
