It's nothing too deep really. I just got frustrated with all the new gear in the first level cap update and ragequit.
Well, I guess it wasn't really a ragequit because I had given it much thought prior to the announcement. I'm quite the perfectionist, so when new gear comes out I put my life on hold just to get it, and I didn't want to put myself in that position anymore. I had invested so much time in XI that I was more interested in perpetuating my "status" rather than just enjoying the game.
All my friends left as well, and they were a big part of the game for me. I'd sit around and just chat with linkshell mates for hours. They kept me sane in my crafting/leveling/farming/event endeavors lol.
I won't even go into SE's numerous double charges and failure to listen to players :I
