Essentially I got so down in the dumps parts of my brain were actually contemplating giving up, ending it all. I became rather unstable, disenchanted, going through the motions. I couldn't focus on work, or fun anymore.

Getting better by the day, but I recognized I was afraid to go to work, so I talked to doctors about it.

I can't speak for American laws, but stress leave should definitely be something your doctor could do for you.

Not in the navy ;). More like get yelled at for not doing my job as well. Also pretty sure most workplaces over here wouldn't accept not working just cause you are stressed out lol. Maybe take a day or 2 off cause you are "sick"
