It's a pretty serious issue that extends beyond clothing. The meth/steroid diet is pretty popular with gay men. Many are just oblivious to the consequences of meth, and only care about fitting in and achieving this perfect gay figure.
Lots of great ideas, lots of bad ideas- seems to have arrived at all of them in the same terrible way

I agree in some cases it's an issue of tact, in others however, it's straight-up racism. The author is talking about people who verbalize it blatantly. If you go onto SCRUFF/GRINDR adam4adam etc... You see NO BLKs, NO AZN, NO LTN,

I never have and likely never will find a black man attractive. That doesn't mean I think they're inferior, it means they possess a particular aesthetic quality that I don't find attractive. Would I childishly parade it around as a conversation piece? Of course not, because I'm not an idiot. That doesn't make the person a racist

I've literally seen people with the same online profiles that say "not into BLKs" make comments at me for having black friends. So yes some gay men do use it as a tool for discrimination.
These are some pretty common gay lines you'll hear in West Hollywood:
"Ugh why are you going to Rage on Saturday it's Asian night"
"We don't do Factory on Thursday that's all black people"
"Oh I won't go to Circus it's ghetto, it's nothing but Mexicans"
The same people who usually blatantly list it in their m4m profiles are usually the ones who I've heard say such phrases.

It takes an extraordinary degree of consideration/clarity of thought to realize that most of the things you consider to be racial prejudices are simply highly correlative
