I hate the word "fate".
Birth, encounters, partings. Success and failure, fortune and misfortunes in life.
If our lives are already set in stone by fate, then why are we even born?
Those born to wealthy families, those born of beautiful mothers, and those born into the middle of war or poverty.
If that's all caused by fate, then god is incredibly unfair and cruel.
Because, ever since that day, none of us had a future and the only certain thing was that we wouldn't amount to anything.

I think he read that somewhere Jos, it is pretty deep but I dunno if Ruiz thinks like that. He seems pretty upbeat and optimistic about everything.

if everyone amounted to something amazing there would be no point in trying in life. The amazing things are for the amazing people.

but you look at fate so negatively senor, what if the lives you touch while living are fate as well. you could be born just to save/change lives with that logic etc

Its a monologue from Penguindrum and I don't personally feel that everyone is supposed to be a hero and change the world. I don't believe in fate itself. I just like all the pretty words. Go watch it, it has a really good story and if you know Greek literature and Japanese literature it'll be a little easier to understand. Everything changes after taking a bite of the apple.
