Endgame: What Job Are YOU Locked Into?

leveled rng>brd>whm>pld>cor>rdm>sch in that order, and im WHM 90% of the time - exceptions being Merits... and .... stupid events where we don't need good WHMs XD

brd brd an brd... seems like no else will come kuz they hate it.... so im ALWAYS stuck brd /sigh

I also have a 75 WHM (It was my second job to hit 75). I have had to go WHM to some EG/mission/etc situations but not all the time. Then again I am a career THF and thus mostly locked as that (TH4 made sure of that >.>; ). Really I think it depends on your EG shell and the job makeup of its members.

If several members have WHM and so there is freedom for some to come on other jobs and you gear your SAM best and make it known you prefer to go as that over WHM, then chances are good you will still come SAM. But you will likely still be asked to come WHM occasionally. If you are in a shell suffering for WHMs and/or having a surplus of dd/SAMs...you might be out of luck then lol.

WHM unless my BRD is needed and on rare occasions RDM or BLM. SCH doesn't get to see any events nor does my RNG but I'm lucky I like going w/e I'm needed as. I have way too much fun with the people in my LS ^^

Sam or Rdm Like both so its all good. Dont have whm lvld so I end up being CS Stun *** lol.

SAM. I wanted to BRD at my last Salvage run and I wasn't allowed to XD

SAM for Salvage and NM's with really nasty AoE's that I'll need to Meditate WS for.

DRG everywhere else.

When I did do it it was usually WHM or SCH. I don't do endgame anymore lol.

I am perma-WHM for VNMs cause of my 48% Cure Potency, /sch and my ability to pay attention ; ;

Perma RDM/BLM in Dynamis for main sleeper duty and enfeebling mobs.

My Samurai is pretty slick, and my RNG was plain awesome, both retired cause I am a mage who gives a damn:/

Pld because its my main and best geared, or rng if we need a DD

Why does it matter what job you go as anyway?

Only time I'm hesitant on going on a certain job is when I dont think its equipped well enough to do good at whatever event we're doing.

more ppl need to realize that no one is asking you to come <insert job> all the time just to *** with you.

i usually come with any job i want, unless there is a lack of blm or thf, i usually go war since its my best geared job and most merited aside thf.

Its not bad being sch most of the time, but it does occasionally get boring.....


I rly wish I could get more use out of my Pld. It's almost as if i lvled it for nothing.

It used to be blm. After 3 years I said *** it and sold the gear though, now i'm usually thf for TH4, pld/nin for tanking or rarely i'll get to come DD, but it's usually on sam instead of one of my better geared Ebody jobs... i'm just happy no one remembers I have rdm. D:

Edit: @Zanno I agree, and have never complained about coming a job since i'm the one that leveled it. Sometimes jobs get boring though after being on them 24/7. It's just nice to be able to change it up or go a better geared job, though once again, I've never complained about going any job.

DNC, im hardly ever allowed to play on RNG

Wtf?! what kind of stuff you do where DNC is preferred over RNG? o_O

But myself, sometimes WAR, sometimes THF, sometimes PLD and occasionally DNC... But I bet once I get my BLM lvled all my other jobs will probably fall by the wayside.
Good thing I like BLM (for now at least)

WHM is my main job and has been for years lol, so I don't really mind. It's the only job thats fully merited and the best geared.

Having said that, since abyssea came out I've been DRG and DNC a lot more to get them leveled up, merited and decent gear which is nice.

I have BLM too but its so shockingly bad I don't play it lol. I hate that job so much, got forced to level to it for my old endgame LS >.>

But for a proper event like dyna, sea, sky, einherjar etc it will probably always be WHM, which is fine. Its the job Im most comfortable with and the one I know the best.

Ungearing BRD doesn't really stop people from asking you to come BRD, since you can do most of your job naked.

Surprisingly though, BRD is one job I never felt I was stuck on. Sure I pull it out on occasions, but I've never been BRD 100% of the time. Closest I came was in a shell I co-lead. We badly needed a BRD for Dynamis runs, so I agreed to come BRD to all Dynamis... on the condition that they let me pull so I didn't go insane.

I primarily play RDM now, but that's a personal choice. RDM is my best geared job, and the one I feel I play the best, and I actually enjoy being on it.

For a long time though before I leveled RDM or BLM I was stuck on WHM pretty much 100% of the time. In one LS I didn't mind it, cause they genuinely needed me on WHM and my other jobs weren't nearly as well geared as their other members. I was also usually the only WHM in the alliance so that kept me busy, I only disliked the job when there was another WHM around stepping on my toes. They also did their best to get me off WHM whenever was possible which I appreciated.

I was in another LS that made me come WHM 100% of the time that I hated though, cause they were jerks about it. Every day I'd ask them what job I was needed on, and every day they'd say WHM. Even when there were already like 3 other WHMs. It made me want to bang my head against a wall.

I know that it sucks to be stuck on jobs that people hate all the time, but I also don't like sucking at events because people don't want to play their most useful jobs. When I lead, I expect people to come on the job they have that's most useful to the group. People who refuse just get kicked, cause I don't need people around who don't want to give their best to the group. On the other hand though, I get people on the jobs they want to play whenever I can. Once the essential roles are covered then we can mix it up a bit

WAR. There isn't much "endgame" going on in my ls unless you consider Abyssea. In that case WAR has access to a large chunk of ws that can possibly pop red !! on nm's for key items. On top of that Ukko's Fury pwns the hell out of stuff. Its quite a useful job nowadays.

I only have 3 jobs over Lv.75 at this point: Thief, Red Mage, and Blue Mage.

Yeah, you can imagine what I'm asked to come as all the time. Until they realize that my Thief is only Lv.78 and my Red Mage is only Lv.80.

I've retired my Thief because of a few... negative events while using it. Despite it only being Lv.78, I'm still asked to come as it for Dynamis (well, not anymore anyway).

Red Mage? Yeah, I'm asked to come that a lot. I'm honestly just waiting at least until I can get Addle and Refresh II for a decent price or for free from a chest. But even in that case I'm probably always going to leave it at least 5 levels below the cap at any given time. Not because I hate the job, but because I suck at it. I'm absolutely terrible as it, and I hate embarassing myself when I try to play it.

Now, Blue Mage on the other hand... my gear may not be the greatest, but I'm actually pretty decent at playing it. It's also the job I have the most merits in. It also happens to be my favourite job. My current LS leader Kalessa is really relaxed about our jobs, and he's more than happy to let me come Blue Mage. It's nice.
