I was wondering if you can fish in dynamis?

well i know you can fish, but can you fish something up? sorry i should of been more clear.
Never was able to. Tried a few different lures since I always had my ebisus on for the first month or 2 after I got it. I think it was because the fish knew my allaince was watching
Have you tried bait? I think i might try bait.
There is no fish except Matsya that cannot be caught with with some kind of lure or rig. And that one only bites on the ex bait.
Probably a good reason no fishing site or general ffxi site has anything about fishing in a zone thats been around for this many years

Why would someone bother paying 500k for glass & reserve an event area to waste time fishing lol

Doubt it.. Other than whipping out the Lu Shang's for shits and giggles, I have yet to reel a single thing in using every lure in the game just about, and insect paste/meat balls.

I'm just saying from logical , common sense , & maybe "SE" perspectives .
You pay for your time in dynamis , 50% of what you do in dynamis is fighting your way to get time bonuses , HP/MP etc , & the other 50% to farm currency & AFs .
For most of us time is precious , time is money , I don't think I wanna waste 3.5 hrs of my life farming for others in dynamis while some idiot is trying to fish , waste time , & being useless .
They can have their pure enjoyment in their own time not during an event .
In any case Dynamis & Fishing share the same aspect , both are boring .
There ya go and I know you weren't tossing a flame post in there. I was stating that some people have the gil to burn like that and Dasva is one of those they possibly would if the fishing was good.

But yeah agree if fishing was my passion , wouldn't hesitate to do that either , the game is meant to be fun anyways in whatever way you like it , & everyone spend their time in there the way they want .

Naw no bites. At that point I think we were waiting on pulls and wanted to play with my new ebisus. I also did it when people were weakened or after we just quit but still had time. I couldn't fish in sandys little fountain or jueno. Was able to in bastok once I think and glacier of course.
Never really tried dreamlands so don't know.
Also if I could make enough money to make up for it in there *** yeah I would. But really fishing up 500k just to make up for the hourglass in 3.5 hours would be insane. And then to make enough to make it worthwhile... yeah it would have to be like 100% bite rate on matsya for that to happen. Not to mention fighting my way to the fishing spots

How do we know there's not a HNM mandy with game breaking drops that can only be popped by fishing in a certain spot in dyna windy? ;3

Aww, you ruined it, haha!
They should add low bite rate fish to dyna that npc for 1 mil each. Make the fish nearly impossible (if not impossible) to reel in, and give it a 30% chance to break the Ebisu rod. When you take the broken rod to Irmilant, he should make a facepalm gesture as he exclaims that you have broken that which cannot be broken. You will have to complete the Ebisu quest again to receive another rod.

Oh but think of all the wonderful tears. I wonder how many people would /emoragequit when they break their rod trying to make some fast cash.
