If a whm or a rdm started to melee in your PT 55+, what would your reaction be?

Depends if they were good or not >_>;
I would drop pt and put up flag for a new invite.
I'd disband, then go SMN Burn.
Wow!!!
That's quite the situation to think ... I'd probably start eating popcorns saying "WOOTAH!" Offline

If they're main healer, I'd ask them to disengage and focus on their support duties. However, if they're keeping hastes and refreshes up where necessary and they're not ruining the experience, no harm done. I'd let them carry on.
If they're good, I wouldn't say a word. If you can keep up with your duties and add even a little damage I can hardly complain. If it's inhibiting their ability to fulfill their other jobs, I'd probably ask them to stop.
I'd tell them they could do there rdm job much better not engaged and could probably do more dmg nuking and poisoning then meleeing while still doing a better support job.

If they can keep myself and the other Melee Hasted and fully cured as well as keeping Dia on the mobs I probably wouldn't say anything.
I say they wanna do dmg they can /sch and nuke /drain /aspir to there hearts content

I lost a friend for a good week after he found out he could use Sidewinder as RDM/RNG lol.

prolly that RDM or WHM wants some weapon skill ups ^.^
I did that like 3X when I was lv'ing my RDM /peace I had a Lv58 party not too far back with a SCH healer who full-timed Dark Arts because he only had to cure like once every three mobs. Mind that SCH has no haste. When he left, he got a DNC rep and it was only better from there. Obviously I would have no issues if say a RDM wanted to melee in this situation.
I've been known to sata a blm or two when they started melee'ing. But if they could do it and keep up all the mage stuffs, I suppose I would just sorta /stare and then ignore it.
well blm can gtfo, but I've meleed a couple of times on rdm and brd out of boredom. While I kept up with buffs fine, there just wasn't much point, because I only get about 3 swings in per mob between all the debuffs and stuff I have to cast.
If you have spare time to meleeing, I'd generally suggest stacking on more debuffs or even nuking instead. Only time I can recall a mage meleeing that wasn't under 37 was in a party I was in a few weeks ago, it was 57 sync and it was a SCH/RDM. I was definitely wtf'ing at the fact he was meleeing, but no one died and he rested MP when he had to. The thing that really made me wonder was the fact he had WHM at the appropriate level to sub for Stoneskin and didn't sub it.

lvl 55 party anymore is mainly on birds in Wajaom Woodlands or Bhaflau Thickets.. so having to stand there and look pretty in between heals/haste/etc as RDM or WHM is kind of boring.. I say melee and get the skill while you can. lol The mage should use good judgement though, and know when to quit when things get sticky. Common sense.
had a wtf moment in meripo when the whm there started to melee, but i always had haste and he never had to rest from spamming spirit taker+ballad+evoker's so i overlooked it..
No relevance to this at all.. but lol >.>

Common sense. when i leveled rdm i was even taking the sata because the JP war we had was too scared to take sata... it was just one of thoes parties where only my friends pld took minimal dmg and was only enough dmg to heal self for hate. if mage able to do job while meleing i say let them. I always said to any mage wanting to DD, if they can keep haste cycle's, everyone alive and status healed, and still had enuf MP efore thier next convert, during that time, they can do what ever they like. Iv had alot of RDM's who DD and can manage this, and alot who dont DD and still cant.
Depends on ur DD and the mage, but it can be done. Used to have a WHM friend in LS who merits on birds WHM/SCH and had enuf MP to easily DD 4/5 mobs and still hit 500+ hexa's. Was quite funny, whilst she hasted, Dia'd and cured us all. She was Taru tho, with x2 ballad and sanction nothings hard really. Now if the RDM wanted to /NIN id be /pcmd kicking thier arse! |
