If you really want romance, sometimes you should try to bring it to the table yourself! Men shouldn't be the only ones expected to be spontaneously romantic!

The reward of doing something romantic isn't just in receiving the surprise, its truly exciting to see the look in their eyes as well, its rewarding for both ends. Something everyone should try to do, I don't see nearly as many women posting the most romantic thing they've done for their boyfriend as i have boyfriend for girlfriend.

shamefully I can't recall the most romantic thing i've done with my girlfriends, but i do have a plan for one shortly lol, she plays FFXI and reads these threads so i can't go into detail...

Edit: I lied, i can remember something romantic i did for my current Girlfriend. She's a summoner and absolutely loves Carbuncle, so i hunted down a stuffed animal Carby, shipped it in from Japan, and surprised her with it on her birthday. She absolutely loves the thing, sleeps with it and brings it with her everywhere.

It may not sound like a lot, but it meant a lot to her, shes never seen without that Carbuncle plush. Its funny cause I'm a pretty good artist, so on the Wrapping paper i drew a little comic of me Summoning the "present" so when she saw it she knew what it was =x

And to the post above, I've had girls do some romantic things for me, despite me being an *** to them. One chick wrote a 14+ page letter of 200 things she loved about me. From little things to big things(lol). She put on lipstick and sealed the envelope with a kiss. Granted it was all done in a effort to get me back together with her... but I still call that romantic.

Best thing to do to achieve this is to date someone below your standards which usually means you're above their standards. They'll actually put effort into the relationship to keep you rather than treat you like crap(you're below their standards)/equal(you're about the same).

Hmmmm, not much to share here as I've been single for 3 years now and my ex's were pretty drab and droll.
However, the most bromantic thing done to me was my buddy bought my favorite album on vinyl out of the blue which was pretty awesome even though I don't have a record player lol.

As far as what I've done... I dunno, I've made too many unrecognized efforts to even know what would be valid anymore.

If you consider somebody to be "above" or "below" your standards than you should be single tbh. Every person has their own life to live and their own life choices. You may be able to choose who u associate with and who you date but passing judgements on people as if they are some how "better" or "below" you is just narcissistic and petty.
