Random Acts Of Kindness: Share Yours

I've had lots of random kindnesses done to me, way too many to list them all. One was, leveling war (first job I leveled), I was partying in quifm and had a bow, but hadn't ever pulled before and just had my bow equipped, wasn't using it at all. The party leader was an experienced player and decided to pull, asked if he could borrow my bow. I was unsure about letting a complete stranger use my gear, so he gave me 10k as insurance that he would give it back. After the party, I tried to trade him his 10k back when he returned my bow, but he made me keep it. At the time, it was the most gil I had ever had.

More recently, a guy I knew by name only but didn't really 'know' know found out that a some of my friends and I were on our way to try to 4-man Nyzul Aisle floors 1-5 because we've all had bad experiences with pick-up players and no one on our linkshell / pal lists wanted to go do Nyzul climbs from floor 1. When he found out, he volunteered to come along with us and helped us through our first ever Nyzul run. (Now I know him better, but this happened before I knew him very well.)

Probably for me... when I was a new player all those years ago on Odin, Johyo pretty much saved my *** in Tahrongi Canyon, and took me to Konschtat, and PLed me to 10 or so, then payed for alot of my gear all the way to 75... Really nice guy, considering he never knew me beforehand. Probably would of quit before I even got started without him.

loll people charge for Raise in this game?! I mean... the guy can't pay while he's dead... so obviously the greedy WHM will get screwed over that deal, unless the dead person is super honest hahaha xD

Was on yet another dreamworld dyna run (Bubu); and after so many failed lots-no drops finally had a Sorcerer's belt drop and the winning lot. Sure enough a player (to remain nameless) gave me the teardrop /tell....

After checking log to see he was #2 top lot, I cancelled my lot and he got it. Yep - I really wanted it (had for long time now), but I felt good doing that (someone had done same for me couple years ago on Koga Sarashi belt).

I gave a noob a protect in the dunes.

He then died 15 seconds later.

Today there was a WAR at Belladonna campsite, clearly afk. They somehow got aggro from one of the NQ Rafflesia. I suppose I could've let them die, but I cured them anyway.

i keep the goblin population on sylph at its minimum while i fish in E.Ronny by stealing their fishing poles, then proceeding to break it on the first "!!!" I snag on too. Thus negating anymore food to their measly bellies.

I was traveling to get to ___ shadow NM camps in Fei'Yin when I saw a summoner running my way. His Carbuncle was fighting Miser Murphy, dying in a few hits... I stopped by and helped him. He was a smn with a gimped whm sub and tossing cure 2 my way every so often, with myself being 75 SAM/DNC, and the fight lasted for a few minutes, but we beat him. He offered me gil, but all I asked for was a full cure up...and we went on our ways.

When I first started playing the game, 2 1/2 years ago, I was a single job newb, and got KO'd in front of the Dunes OP. A PLD75 by the name of Thereddevilkane happened to come along and find me. He raised me, then took me over to Gusgen and killed Ghouls until the Magicked Skull dropped, even though it took almost an hour. He also offered over the next few weeks and months to help me get my chocobo license and the airship pass, and was just a very, very nice guy. He doesn't play anymore, which is sad, because the game is sorely lacking generous people like him sometimes. ^,^;

Years and years ago. I was a 32WAR in Yhoat lvling. A nice SAM called Blazedjr from Ifrit server took pitty on my very dodgy equip.. and brought me the whole Ein gear.

I think thats why its still my fav gear to date.

I am kind with everyone online when I can help people on my server. Other than that I do not mind.

When I was camping Belladonna and the 2 mandies for those rings, id offer TH4 to anyone that out claimed me.

Like, my 2nd day on Fairy someone sent me a tell asking me to help him get carbuncle ruby for smn quest.

Usually if im in whitegate on BLM ill give out retraces for free.

I remember being asked if I could help with G1 items in Eldieme Necropolis, so with nothing better to do (and having just gotten enough skill for Hexa Strike and buying a Darksteel maul at the time) I went out and helped him. My MNK friend in my LS asked what I was doing, so I told him what was going on and he joined me. It made the guy I was helping want to level MNK and WHM, but he couldn't decide which so we told him to random for it, lol. Next day I saw him leveling MNK in Saruta :P (He was on THF to do limits)

Some late night a few months ago, when I just reached PLD75, my friend was leveling BLM in Garlaige Citadel, near the first banishing gate. In /tell, he told me about their PLD (syncee) who was tanking weird.

When I got there, I observed from around the corner, and he appeared to tank fine, until I saw him spam Cover when it was available. Then more flaws became obvious.

When one of their DDs left, his job got a little tougher, so I offered to fill in the last spot. Once we got going, I offered the young Paladin guidance and taught him a trick or two to create a hate spike.

After a while, he thanked me, and to this day, he randomly sends me /tells to just talk and sometimes to tell me how his PLD is doing.

Im working on getting more friends through CoP. I think myself and Ditsy have helped on all the missions at least 5-7 times... even more on some others.

I love doing ZM16 so much on low-man RDM/NIN groups (2-4 people) that I will often offer my help just to go do it... its a great challenge on RDM, fun, and helps someone too!!!

Ive helped camp Charybdis for 3 weeks in a row to help get people swords, staying up late hours at a time, and also logging into other peoples characters if they couldnt be online to get them their items (Joytoy and Shura Body)

Ive told my friends to call me in the middle of the night if their NM pops and they dont have help.... or try to give me ToD and if I have the chance I'll come help.

I want to draw more pictures for all my friends. I still want to continue CoP missions for them. I want to do more limbus runs low man coin collecting so we can get people the gear they want.

I want to see my friends smile more, laugh more, have fun more.

my friends and I were partying with some level 20 whm that had no subjob. We helped him/her get the subjob items and escorted him/her to jueno and partied with him/her till 24.

I think the kindest thing ive ever done and will never do againn...Back when i first started my char i had just gotten 75 rdm and was runnin around sandy bored. i did a /sh to offer any new players help in getting started. I only got 1 tell and it was from a jp person. I ended up pling them from 7-30 and unlocking subjob and getting that to 10 before logging off that day. Never saw the person again. /sigh

I've received random acts and given them. The only one I received I can recall off hand is when I was a new player. Around level 50 WHM. I shouted in Lower Jeuno for help killing the AF NMs in Valkurm Dunes and a 75WHM helped me out with it. We became friends and were eventually in the same ls together til it broke. Then we lost touch.
Oh, remembered another one. Even before that, when I was barely level 20 whm. I came across a 35drk (Blackrogue) who I thought was god. I can't recall how we met or what the circs were but he ended up escorting my sorry *** to Jeuno. We were friends til he quit.
Ohhh, and another. I was 36ish whm when a PLD (Xatherine) I met in dunes in a party helped me get my first two pieces of RSE. Then had to go, but a MNK50ish (Triella) I had just met helped me get the other two without hesitation.

I can't recall any specific times I've helped people. If I see someone in trouble I stop to help and things of that nature. I've helped people get SJ items and things like that.
It's nice to help people as long as they approach me with a nice attitude and I'm not busy.
I'll try to think of some others, but it's been a long time since I've had to help anyone. The diversity of new players make it difficult to want to help people nowadays. Few weeks ago I was literally getting spammed to kill all avatars for someone. I explained I already had all six whispers and couldn't help. Then he moved to the next avy;;

Umm... my most recent one was when me and a friend were sitting in whitegate. A RDM was shouting saying they needed help with Steely Weapon. I don't have that expansion yet so I wasn't sure what it was so I looked it up. Noticing that they needed ranged attacks, I decided to invite them to our party where I geared up my 67COR and my friend got his 75COR and we ran over to kill it for them. Was actually fun cause it's always fun to Slug Shot something in the face.

I had fun doing that one as COR61.. or was I 63? Anyway, had some great help with the Corsair Bullets, and made yet another victory duoing these missions so far :D

not to pay myself on the back, but too many to list. i use to just stand in jeuno to help people for fun. that was when i was a level 50ish red mage. it's how i made a lot of friends. strangely, i also made a lot of enemies in shout wars. such is my contrary nature.

i still help people out though. just the other day i was messing with this guy named Gentlefairy. he has an LS called BrosBeforeChocobos. i was just messing with him. we were /sitting in front of Conrad in Bastok Mines. i forgot what we were doing, but i was following him around and acting like i was gay and into him. soon his friends showed up and they started walking away.

i knew they were annoyed with me, but i kept following them. they went to korroloka. pretty soon it dawned on me what they were going there to do. ninja quest. i ran ahead and beat them there. when they got there, they were like demanding that i leave them alone. but i killed one of the leeches for them. then they were walking out, so i suggested that i could cast escape for them. (i was nin/blm for warp for whatever reason.) then his friend realized that he was rdm/blm and started casting escape. so i cast escape.

in town, we're all standing there. there's two that need to go to norg now. so i ask them if they want help getting there. one of them that wasn't annoyed with me (for whatever reason) said sure. he had the OP to upper elshimo. so i had to walk him to norg from there. then back and there again. helped him get ninja.

then gentlefairy realized that i could help him with other ***, so he asked if i could help him get a coffer key for his paladin armor. did that. got lucky. i think we went like 2 waves of demons. so something like 1/8 or 1/10. me nin/thf, him pld/war. found the coffer in the 3rd place we looked.

then i asked him if he wanted help getting the body, and he said he was too tired. so i said i'd help him tomorrow, but he never was on. haven't seen him since. his LS is always empty whenever i check it too.

Oh well. I hope he ended up getting his Surcoat. I think he had a Byrnie as a substitute though. It's not too bad for that.

i would just give random people in my ls 100k+ when they were running low on gil to help them out with quests/gear/synth whatever

-I remember I met a JP player while riding on the boat, and somehow managed to communicate i needed help on getting SJ items.
-Random Raises on dead people I run by while on chocobo, or walking someplace (even dead pt's from nyzul)
-A Newby asking for lil help, money wise (not begging) just to buy a piece of armor, gave him Gil and bought him the HQ armor.
-helped many ppl with kahzam keys.
-random cure/pro/shell
-Re-doing many missions

...so many more
2 nights ago, sold an aketon for 58k (opposed to 150k) just cause it was the random guy's b'day >.> (lowby?)

-once i was 60 rdm(first job) i randomly visited KRT and helped a newby w/ orcish scales. afterwards, i became her mentor for most things ff, and kept a close eye on her while leveling in the dunes offering advice and NOT PLing but instead just there for "security" of aggro. didnt wanna ruin the early ff experience we've all had in the dunes and such. have stayed in touch for the past two years . <3 saisomi

-was short on gil at one point for spells and nice guy hit up jeuno ah and bought me haste. i was in aw.

-as 75 rdm, was camping charby for 2 weeks straight since could never muster up the help at such late hours. every trip down id run by this thf soloing ep-dc's down there (farming?) toss him a haste and cure and be on my way. well one night, he followed me and helped me camp charby. i got my joyeuse that night. dont think he plays anymore tho :/

reading all these reminds me of my days preendgame /tear. good friends and memories. think ill be hittin up the lowby areas soon to make some new ones

- I generally help WG shouts for AF1, WSNM, and genkai quests.
- have bought some stranger full hachiman set for his SAM because he was trying his best in merit party and wasnt geared to well (not that hachiman is great but better than what he had).
- random cures, raises and buff
- Have given some newbies 20k-30k here and there (they all thought it was christmas and that they were rich, later only to learn that most ppl spend 20k+ on a stack of sushi only for birds to steal it).
- free retraces (paying 1-3k for a retrace is ridiculous)

The list goes on.. I think it is great to help the new guys. You get the contentness out of helping someone accomplish something w/o all the bitching and moaning from the more experienced players, and for a moment you are like GOD to that person in which u have helped. Also what may have started out to be just helping the new guy may turn into a pretty good friendship.

he said "cause im poor and its my first 75(i loled cause he was 73)"

This guy in my linkshell camped for days trying to get Mary's Horn (I think that's what it is called). Eventually he threw in the towel and quit bard. I felt bad for him and I had quite a bit of cash laying around, so I bought him one and told him to check his dbox.

A few months later I saw him running around 75BRD.
