This is a faithful rework of the original FFIX TetraMaster game as a faster minigame where each player gets a random hand and each cards have random arrows assigned.
You can play solo or duel against an other FFXI player who's in your party.



//tm play — to play solo games against AI.





//tm duel {player_name} — to challenge a party member to a duel.


//tm accept — to accept a duel.



(Yes I have no friends and I play against my mandragora pet)


Any testing and feedback of the multiplayer duel games would be appreciated.

I'd recommend some degree of caution, especially if AI was involved, since it likely hasn't been thoroughly penetration tested and it is using a unique protocol. Windower API is sufficient to do an awful lot of damage (in and outside FFXI) if an attacker can send commands to the game client.

That said, the addon is primarily an initializing wrapper with a relay to mask your true IP. So, the most obvious attack vectors are ruled out. Still, it appears anyone who knows you're playing a game can easily inject actions into your game since it's only secured by the ingame names of the players. So, if any invalid message can potentially reach command input or break out of the lua state, it becomes an attack vector.

Ambitious project.

All the TM duels are hosted on a small Oracle Cloud VM and all data goes through a Cloudflare tunnel. So it would need quite a bit of dedication for someone to attack.

Unless I'm misunderstanding, the bridge is only secured by a session ID made out of both player names. If a streamer starts a game with this, anyone watching knows the names of both players. That means they can use the session id to inject messages into the game.

That's minor; it means your tetra master games can be toyed with. But, if there's any way to break into windower functions or lua from there, it becomes a major security risk.

The model isn't bad overall, and I was impressed that it neither reveals user IPs nor communicates substantially over the game. But, anything that communicates like that should be treated with a degree of skepticism until thoroughly evaluated.

Yup yup for sure. I definitely didn't have the "streamers" population in mind where everybody knows when and who are part of a duel.
Shouldn't be hard to increase the security of the handshake on my side.

I actually like tetra master too. I used to play way back in the ray when they had it as a separate thing on POL. It was nice during update times but this seems really cool!
