Hello,

After search and search I cannot find a post that give details as to how to kill CN basement bosses. -Here we go to see if we can get some insight on how to kill.

Apolly - Tier 1
-Worm + Mantis + Adamantoise

I have not been able to kill these 3 with 2 group (12peeps)
Party comp is PLD BRD RDM GEO WHM COR

We styime / Sab sleep 2, Turtle + Sandworm but we notice they don't even sleep a tremendous amount of time aprox not a full min or so - Attempted to bind/break them as other CN Apolly bosses but still constant resist/immuno and by that time you start hitting immuno's its pretty much a wipe due to worm Tp move of Extreme Purgation...

So if there could be some type of tips or recc I can get that would be great..

- Thanks for your help.

Temenos

Tier 1 :
2 Horse + 1 Aern

Not much there pretty easy just kept them slept and Zerg them down 1 by 1

Tier 2:
Chimera + Mammett + Iron Giant

2 RDM is a must *But the more the better to rotate

Keep Mammett / Iron Giant - Slept / Bind / Break the whole time while fighting Chimera for crowd control.

Then continue fighting Mamett while continuing bind / break / slept iron giant so doesnt wreck with its TP moves.

Finish off Mammett.

Much information I have for Temenos - if anyone needs.

I just did the Khim+Giant+Mammet as RUN yesterday, solo because appearently nobody wanted to pt with me (my armpits smell!)
They were relatively easy to stay alive against as RUN/WHM.
The Khimaira especially, the Iron Giant not so much, many of his moves were damaging.

Overall all 3 of them died in like, what, 30 mins?
But I got absolutely nothing out of it.
No exp, no ep, no cp, no "progress bar".
I mean, that's a bit anticlimactic I gotta say, but w/e

should have gotten ~1.5 bars of unique data. We had same issue on ultima for 3 pops though. 100%-0% and maybe 10% data

Home at my office desk every day idle in town watching shouts, and I haven't seen a single shout for these since they came out. But someone must be doing these because all but 2 of Objective 2 were done in Apollyon earlier

im aware, but to me solo means by him self, not in a outside alliance. I'm assuming he did this with a 6 box.

I was about to ask when they said Solo.. I was like no damn way solo RUN/WHM

But no multi-boxing people do not call it solo, from what I am aware of.. Still considered players, not trusts.

He didnt solo kill all 3

There were other parties/alliances in the area killing the bosses. He was solo tanking, most likely with trust support, while the other people in the area was DPS. Hence the “nobody wanted to party with me”.

I tanked Iron Giant and Khimaira, and I was on my own with my party flag up.
Did a few shouts but nobody seemed interested. Or probably they were just jp-onry I dunno.

I haven't seen any yell in town either.
I happened to see it open when I went there to get a ??? in temenos and entered, only to found several people already in there but not engaged yet.

Why invite you when they can invite their friends to get credit while you tank it for them and get nothing? This whole NM system is ***, and SE is only doubling down on it more with the Ark Angels.

Its a very poorly thought out system. If you're within 30' and on the target hate list, you should get credit for damage dealt to it, since you're gonna get smoked by any AoE's they put out. You shouldnt need to be in pt/alliance of the DPS.

Regardless of how they give the special bar progress, I think it's a nice treat in general, sure I guess it quite clearly needs some fix but concept-wise I find it a nice idea.

I'm just wondering... why nothing else?
I mean Gil? Exp? EP? Chance of Alabaster/Murky items or in general stuff you can get from a chest? Units?

Atm the only "reward" seems to be the chest upgrade for the whole server. That can't be the only system, I mean, wtf?

I get that they are wary of making this content too attractive because otherwise too many people will want to try it and you can only do it once a month so they don't want people to *** they couldn't participate in it (heh, first time I actually find it available since when they added it, for instance)
But that too can't possibly be good game design.
How do you make a new thing and bind it behind a once-per-month timer and at random, unforseeable times?

I dunno, the more I think about it the more it seems like everything is made with really good intentions but extremely bad planning and game design =/

Trust me, people complain about not being able to fight the nms plenty. My sortie group has someone in it who has voiced his discontent… multiple times… for not being able to fight them. “They finally add these new nms but make it so nobody gets to fight them. There’s so little new content added as is and it’s frustrating… like what’s the point”. Nearly word for word how he described it. And he’s not wrong.

Before the personal reward there was no incentive to fight the nms because killing them is a server wide boost. Now that you can open a couple extra boxes per month people actually wanna fight them, but they spawn once every four weeks and T1 and T2 die within an hour of JP midnight. T3 is dependent on the ??? Spawning so it can happen at any time. It’s a lose lose for s-e. The personal reward is pretty minimal, but limbus is so grindy that any extra progress is welcome.

SE could have easily made this player friendly.

Basement is instanced. 72hr lock out like Dynamis. Server has to kill the instance 50 times (or whatever) to unlock the next tier.

This gives everyone a chance to do the fight and earn the extra chest, since 100 kills isn't happening right after JP midnight. Obviously the fights would have to be tuned to a single alliance.

Just make the exact same dynamis wave 3 progress bar that fills when damage is done to the target NM, while you are in the area. Literally this:

The extra boxes aren't even worth the trouble of doing them because of how annoying the system is to get points. Poor Sechs tanked an entire NM by himself (because nobody invited him or they were already grouped up), and he gets NOTHING for his efforts? Dumbest design ever. So if I play solo without multibox, it's almost impossible to get points? Yeah, 100% skippable, not gonna bother.

They could have just made it so everyone can force spawn them for the personal loot on kill. They could have instanced it multiple times. They could have made them keep respawning but only require the first kills for upgrade, and limited per player progress to one of each nm per month. Instead they did possibly the worst and most asinine thing possible. They reinvented land kings…

These basement mobs are only slightly better than the old school land kings system. You don’t have to stand around for 3 hours waiting for pops every 30 minutes, and everyone who participates in the damaging alliance gets credit. But it has a very similar feeling of exclusivity to the old days. You only have a very short window to fight them, and once killed they’re gone and stay gone for a full month.

S-E hasn’t been doing a very good job of designing limbus to be player friendly. So far we have a very repetitive and gratingly dull set of weeklies for matter drops that go 1 in 5 on unlucky weeks and a set of nms that maybe 25 players per server benefit from each month. But hey… limbus weapons next month. Surely that’ll make everything awesome!!

The limbus weapons definitely won’t require matters to build btw. (Disclaimer: there’s a 98% chance they may in fact require matters).

They should've just made them exactly like DI.

Everyone can join, everyone can get credit, there is no claim on the NM, and it respawns frequently enough you can fight it once a day even if you login for 30min-1hr.

Like a perma-spawning Mireu in fact.

They literally said "we want to make Limbus NMs like Domain Invasion where everyone can join". Then come up with.. whatever this is.

JP community has no problem fighting them because they respawn at close to JP peak time. Therefor, no problem.

When do you usually call it a night? Calling midnight-1am "peak time" seems wrong.

Peak time JP is around 8-10pm afaik. I still see a big JP crowd on at 12am.

I used to stay up till 12-1, but not anymore.

midnight-1am is easier for the JP to deal with considering at 8-11am the NA player base is either at work or heading to work.

These NM's should have been set on a 1 NM per 6 hours window instead of 4 at JP midnight.

None of them work, you people literally never think about 2nd 3rd 4th order effects. That's why they don't(shouldn't) listen to you.

You wanted the limbus NMs to have purpose. Now you complain that they have purpose. You got what you wanted.

I told you exactly what would happen if they did it, now you got it.

The only problem I see with that is what Maletaru said, that they wanted these fights to matter at least a bit, to not be a snorefest like Domain Invasion.

I understand that wholeheartedly, but if this is the result then I'd rather take the snorefest and get the "challenge" from somewhere else in the game.
