New Stable Windower - May 2026

In case you guys didn't notice, a pretty big update hit Windower Stable today. After many, many, many months developing and testing stuff they finally released it!
There's a plethora of new features but I'll leave the surprise to you, just explore that "config" option and reap the fat results!

There are currently some problems launching on older operating systems, if you're logged in you should probably stay so for a while.

I would postulate it's quite unstable, achually lol
Followed by 7 hook patches in 2 days. again.

If you are using windows 7 yeah there is a function that the code now uses, unsurprisingly no one on the dev branch reported that issues. but we got lots of issue reported for linux users which was the bulk of the delay in merging dev.

don't give in and support windows 7.

Ehhhhh about that. The game should work on legacy hardware and if you break it you should really ensure you fix it.

Continually updating windower at the cost of previously perfectly working scenatios aint cool.

You can't choose to not update windower

Or provide a legacy version that you stop tweaking.

That's literally the opposite of entitlement. Entitlement would be demanding new ***. Asking to leave it the *** alone so it continues to work isn't that.

Fixing ***that ain't broken, breaking more ***

one of the many fixes included in this update is one that impacts the `windower.ffxi.run` and `.follow` functions, in the past it has been reported that these functions could go haywire and the character would "appear" to jump some great distance forward and then back. Except it did not appear that way it actual is visible to a third party the character would appear to pos warp and then warp back to the intended position.

No one can know what is or is not broken at any given time, if they are not supporting the people coming in with these issues.

'mah old PC, they should make sure it works for ME', no entitlement at all in there.

Probably better off not responding at all since Rooks will come in and squash you like a cockroach for complaining about Windower (again), but you have to respond.

Is there a Patreon link or something for donating? (Even more so if the hook can be updated everyday, just for Eiryls sake).

it's not overly complicated to block updates from windower.

if you're using windows 7 you should probably look into doing so now.

nobody cares about your vendetta against Microsoft(while still using their products..), stop making everyone's life harder.

if you're going to be on an unsupportable OS, you should at least learn to run software on it
