Chronicle - Mission/Quest Tracking

I decided to finally do some of the quests in this game, but instead, I ended up making an addon to track the progress of missions/quests with a full UI, providing in-game walkthroughs, searching, filtering, sorting...

I have yet to do any actual quests.

Anyway, here it is:

Disclaimer:

Due to the very large nature of missions/quests, I can guarantee there will be issues with some of the quests. A lot of edge cases had to be handled, such as the quest "The Rivalry/The Competition" which is actually 2 separate quests as far as the game is concerned, but you can only complete one. I imagine there are other such edge cases I am not aware of. Please let me know of any issues here or via Github issues.

There are also a lot of quests in the game data that you cannot complete, such as the "Mystery of Fire/Water..." quests, which were interesting to read about - they still exist in game data but cannot be completed. These are ignored by the addon.

Walkthrough info was gathered from BGWiki which I believe is fine so long as I credit the wiki for it, which i have done in the README.

Elder Memories is exclusive with The Old Lady, not Her Memories iirc(?)

The addon supports these 3 mutually exclusive quest groups:

nice addon.. only issue i have is my mouse isnt shown when i hover over. so i have to guess where i click :)

Interesting issue! I have seen something similar occasionally but usually refocusing / clicking elsewhere on the screen brings the cursor back. I'll keep an eye on it though. Thanks

I'm working on a similar project but not just an Addon but a whole ecosystem with a web application and other features.

For this addon, I just specifically wanted to not have to leave the game (alt-tab out) when questing. It's kinda nice for that.

It shows for me:
* All missions done
* 4 missing Provide Coalition quests - Can't go back in time; I checked.
* The Swarm as incomplete - I have the title, but maybe it never marks itself complete?
* A Moonlight Requite - cannot be completed right now, afaik

Thanks for that. I'll be adding the provide coalition quests to the ignore list in the next update. And I'll investigate the other cases too.

I'm fine with it showing the Provide quests and The Swarm, which are both legit, but A Moonlight Requite is debatably a game bug and it might as well be hidden.

Anyway, awesome work!

So i was having this issue with mouse based addons and it turned out it was because I was full screening in windowed mode, If you "restore" your window to its original size (the little squares next to the X top right of the window) the mouse works as expected for me, the scaling does something funky to it.

Also what a cool addon! Thanks for making it. Was hoping i might uncover something I hadn't done yet, but was fun to see all those gold trophies nonetheless :)

Another thing it could be is that you dont have hardware mouse enabled in windowers settings.
To check this, open the Windower launcher, select Edit (pencil icon), navigate to the Game tab, and click enable the Hardware Mouse option.

Some missions and quests never get "marked" as completed, I've had to be little creative and based on step or what is "current" to determine where you're on. Several expansions were little tricky for when you're technically on the last mission but it never set as completed.

Yep, that's right. This addon handles all the ones I knew about via a "active means completed" concept. E.g. "The Last Verse" shows as completed rather than permanently active. If I missed any they are easy to add. Cheers

Is there a reason it flags "Coming Full Circle" as Incomplete?

Just because I have "Forging a New Myth" re-flagged? I've completed multiple mythics already


I'd like to also bring up The Swarm. I also have the title. I've done it many times, mainly from VanaBout last year. If anything I thought this was a side-quest not an actual quest, because I didn't think it showed up in the log?

And I agree it's fine to keep the Provide Coalitions listed because some people have them and others don't.. That being said, is there any way to force them to become available again? or it is just, you had to be the at the beginning of seekers and if not too bad? (similar to losing besieged titles). Are they sometimes available on "Dead" low-pop servers? It's never been available on Asura the 6.5 years I've been here

Unfortunately those coalition assignments are just impossible to access now. Their purpose was to construct the frontier station in those areas and after they've been constructed they don't dissappear on dead servers.

Doesn't outpost warping stop working if no one does any of the frontier coalitions for a while?

I don't think it gives you a quest, it just stops working. On small servers there's half a handful of people that do these and if they take a break.. outpost warping breaks for a while.

• "A Moonlight Requite" added to the list of "Active means completed" quests

• Uncompletable quests no longer appear by default (E.g. "The Swarm")

• New command "//cr uncompletable" toggles visibility of quests that cannot be completed

• New filtering option for uncompletable quests (if the new setting is on)

• Some quests that were entirely hidden before now appear as uncompletable, E.g. The Sahagin's Key, Mystery Of... quests
