Rune In Sortie Noob

Hello All,
So I am our groups tank in Sortie for now on PLD but am working on my Run too.
I am still a bit away on Epol is that a must for tanking in Sortie on Run?
Any advice for a Noob Run tank in Sortie?

Most/All damage from Sortie bosses is Magical, so Epeolatry isn't helping you there. Aettir is fine, probably preferred anyways with additional Magic Evasion (and Lunge Bonus, lulMAB).


Learn your elements (Barspells, Runes), bring Remedy/Panaceas. Magic Evasion/MDB builds are key. If you're in a magic setup, you'll likely never lose hate. If you're in a melee burn, build a hybrid TP set so you can smack bosses around while taking minimal damage (One For All/Vallation/Valiance helps a lot).

There's really not much else to it. Flash/Foil/Hate spells and stay upright while keeping threat. I don't even know if it makes sense subbing BLU for more hate moves or whatever, but it depends on your setup. If you're getting the full benefit of melee buffs, you can sub something more offensive. If you don't have those sets built, just prioritize keeping the mob's attention while party downs the boss. Might also be easier to tank some of these bosses while kiting via Gravity. It's by far the easiest method and takes the stress off of face tanking.

Run sortie tldr - put up right runes before boss pull. Move to your spot, flash foil gambit runes x3 rayke runes x3 lunge MB rune x1 swipe MB.

Panacea for after fight. Ignore the fetter debuffs, not removable.

Will be dead at around the swipe in a strong magic group. One for all, battuta etc for nearer the last 25%.

You will need a high defense set for fomors. Mdb for bosses.

I made this back in 2018. Still holds up. Just search for a monster family and there you go.
