Fujito said last August that augmenting the primes is the next step

I don't remember this. Can you share when this was stated?

You'd think they would need to add additional augments to the rest of the REMAs as well too? I don't remember talk of that.

I'd rather they take another crack at relics before further boosting primes(like they said they were going to do at least WS wise...)

I'd love nothing more than to use Ragnarok unironically again.

Was rags WS ever any good? Even at 75 i think people opted for spinning slash still and beyond that it was just a reso weapon, was never a "terrible" ws, just always kind of mediocre compared to few other scaling WS GS has access to

Nah it's always been pretty garbo, but as I've previously stated, I'm a *** for crit, and 24% (with AM3) is pretty nasty. I also think it's one of the coolest looking GSs. I typically lockstyled it over my Epeo and Calad.

I know I'm reaching ad naseum with the crit convo, but I would love to be able to viably build a crit setup that sacrifices WS/SC damage for white damage. Iono why, just something about going ham on autos speaks to me on a spiritual level.

Laphria is what I use almost all of the time, except for when Naegling, Loxotic Mace +1, or Shining One is needed. My Chango has effectively been retired since I got the s4 Laphria.

Have you tried using Laphria in place of Naegling/Loxotic/Shining One in Sheol C? How does it perform comparatively against the various enemies there?

Naegling is still the king of Sheol C runs. Switching to the other options, as needed. My group for Sheol C farms typically enters with DD/DD/DD/BRD/WHM/COR. Usually 2 WAR with a SAM make up the DDs. Since we do not use a tank, sword and board helps a bit defensively and can consistently do 95-100% dmg savage blades on most mobs.

If Naegling savage blade werent so dominate for one shotting, or nearly one shotting most mobs in Sheol C, I might be more tempted to use Laphria in there

Fujito: After "Embryo" is completed, we will be able to enhance prime weapons, but even if we go to the trouble of creating them, they will be meaningless if there is no place to use them. On the other hand, we don't want new content that tests the power of prime weapons to be mandatory for future play, so we are planning several new master trials. In previous Master Trials, a special weapon that glows white but has no practical use as a weapon was available as a reward for clearing the trial. However, in addition to the two-handed swords and other weapon types that have been implemented so far, there are several others that have not yet been implemented, and we plan to make these available in the new Master Trials.

If im reading the article right it was around the time sortie was still being finished so they may have been referring to actually making S3/S4/S5 as this was all centered around the TVR finale

bad DeepL tl;

Regarding post-Embryo completion, will there be any additions to existing content?
Fujito: Currently, the endgame content consists of two elements: the Odyssey “Sheol Gyr” and Soti. Regarding Gyr, Veng25 represents its intended final form from the outset. Soti, however, remains unfinished and will also serve as the “content for enhancing Prime Weapons,” which begins upon clearing Embryo. Moving forward, we envision players utilizing Soti not only for enhancing Empyrean gear and acquiring job-specific ear equipment, but also for strengthening their Prime Weapons.

Are there any new content updates planned after the completion of ‘Embryo’?
Fujito: After completing ‘Embryo,’ players will be able to enhance their Prime Weapons. However, if we create this feature but players have nowhere to use their enhanced weapons, it would be meaningless. That said, we don't want the new content testing Prime Weapons' power to become mandatory for future play, so we're planning several new Master Trials. In past Master Trials, players could obtain uniquely glowing weapons as clear rewards, though they weren't practical for combat. However, besides the two-handed swords and other weapon types already implemented, there are several unimplemented ones. We plan to make these obtainable through new Master Trials.
――Oh! That makes me curious about the weapon types available too.
FujitoAs mentioned earlier, these new Master Trials also serve as a “testing ground for Prime Weapons,” so I expect their difficulty will be significantly higher than previous ones. We're preparing fitting enemies for them, so I think you'll enjoy them.

Lines up with them making August/Chaos MT if im remembering releases right

That article is from 2023, not 2025. I must be blind, because I see nothing about a future augment system to primes. He's merely talking about (then) future plans where you can complete a prime weapon after finishing TVR (Embryo), and strengthen it THROUGH Sortie. Mentions places you can use the stronger weapon, new master trials. I read that clearly to mean you can stage 3-5 it. He specifically mentions Sortie as the "final stage" for prime weapons several times. Think you're reading way too much into it Felgar.
