Any adjustments to skill ups, exp, ect? I do love the custom stuff on p.servers, but I cannot be bothered to grind exp like it's 2002 again.

Doesn't this one have the accelerated XP mode? This would be the one I would check out if I ever decided to play 11 again.

Yes thee xp is rather fast on accelerated. About as fast as retail.
There are slower modes to choose from.
The skill up rates and everything is 3x.

Good vid all in all. I liked the music.
The early through the trees part lasted too long IMHO but the pace picked up nicely from there.

I enjoyed the long camera movements through those zones. It's fun seeing Vana'diel from perspectives other than what the vanilla game can do.

Thank you all for the feedback, I am dropping more and more videos as time goes on, they will never be perfect but hearing your feedback helps make them better. I hope you are all enjoying your holidays and playing the game we all love no matter where you are playing it.
Are you still doing those ffxi weapons? I recently bought a K club from someone in europe and it arrived shattered in half. Was very sad. I might be in the market for another or maybe I can try to repair this one with some resin.

Controversial take - I rather support the game while it's still being supported before any potential private servers with (more often than not) corrupt server owners.

The person running this server is an obese psychopath, that will happily use the information he gets from you to use against you if you do anything to annoy him at a later date.
If you play on a private server it is not like playing on a retail server, not only does this man get your IP address, but user names and passwords (which if used elsewhere they can use to login to other stuff), there are also few legal protections (since it's illegal in the first place) and so the character of the man running it is always very important.
Also every chat system you use in the game is logged by him to read anytime he wants, and he can read anything you say in party chat, linkshell chat and tell for his own enjoyment (same for every private server).
I'm not a fan of Spicyryan but what Carver did to him and his wife was some omega level BS and more than that just shows you what a disgusting turbo slob mentalist Carver is, cause if he will do it to him he will do it to you too if you annoy him.

Carver is now perma-banned from this sub.
Any CatsEyeXI staff that were moderators have been removed from the mod team. (To avoid retaliation and conflict of interest.)
Any CatsEyeXI threads going forward, for the time being, will be locked and removed. (The discussion of this server is not welcome here for the time being.)
Comments that mention CatsEyeXI will be moderated accordingly based on their contents. (Recommending the server will still be allowed, but anything else regarding it will be removed.)
Any CatsEyeXI news/staff made threads will also be removed for the time being. (Sorry to those caught in the cross-fire of this who are staff on said server.)

Carver is now perma-banned from our Discord.
The CatsEyeXI channel has been locked with a warning as to why.
The CatsEyeXI staff role has been removed.
The remaining CatsEyeXI staff members have been removed from the private discussion channels with the rest of the community leaders and server owners.

Carver is now perma-banned from our GitHub organization and repositories.
The CatsEyeXI advertisement page has been reverted to the default base page and now includes a warning about the owner being banned.

It really was cringe. And I don't see this as a controversial take at all. Retail is getting more credible updates now and it feels more supported than it has for a long time. Devs are also trying to make it easier for returning players.
Having that peace of mind that you're not getting your private messages, IP address and passwords used against you is why I'd never touch anything like this. And honestly, playing a nostalgia-fuelled, bastardized version of an era I think is way overhyped (I was there) is pretty lame.
Fair enough if you want to go back to the 75 days, but it is in the past. Sure, we go back and play old games and they're nicely preserved, but what made FFXI great back then wasn't the content. It was the people. The friends and groups we did things with along the way. This was and is the only MMORPG I have ever played and am ever likely to because of the people. The content is secondary.
If you're looking for more of that, you can still find new friends on retail. It completely baffles me why anyone would want to go back to content like old HNMs, Beastmen stronghold raids or whatever else. There's less to think about from a strategy perspective because jobs and enemies were more basic. You simply copy the same old strats and win.
The only reason I can see why anyone would want to play private is because they're super cheap. The kind of players who stick to downloading free games like Roblox and Fortnite on their consoles while pirating every other game on PC. If players truly care about the real FFXI, they'll pay the cheap monthly sub and enjoy the actual game in its entirety, while knowing they are safe from being exploited.
