Looking at Falkirk's screenshot, it appears Purulent Ooze is healing the NM instead of reducing it by 10%. I agree with Nynja's post, it looks like it's causing the mobs HP to exceed 100%, and the game doesn't know what to do with it, so it assumes you must have done so much damage to actually exceed it's health entirely, and it just dies. This was something you could do in FF7 and other SE games, but likely due to its weird coding. uh... i just found NPC
SW floor #2 on the swirling vortex apollyon how do i post photos Fenrir.Zenion said: » Quetzalcoatl.Falkirk said: » Purulent Ooze killed BRD and BLM NMs in one hit. Well that's gonna get an emergency maint and some bans. Part of me wants to believe that SE added some job-specific kill-switch/gimmick that 1/22 jobs gets for each of these new NMs ....but I guess that would be silly for a server-wide NM. YouTube Video Placeholder it dissapeared as i was recording it. i tried trading 666 gil to it and it did nothing i apologize for randomness nonsense.. but you gotta admit it was really weird EDIT: its back? seems you gotta be in a funny spot to target it.. It seems to happen sometimes in Apollyon - exit teleporters can have a secondary target. I've seen "NPC" like yours and also just <blank square> as well.
That was the NPC that would report zone status and time remaining. Not sure why they didnt just remove it entirely.
Holy crap the amount of people whining about losing ML they botted or paid for is absolutely unreal in this thread.
Oh my God, can you imagine if you died 500 times to these NMs and then *gasp* lost 1 STR and 7 HP?! I'm not doing this content, it's just not worth it! Please, loosen the grasp on your pearls and realize how ridiculously miniscule the penalty for dying is. Unless you're homepointing every time and throwing your body at it constantly, you will never, ever, ever notice these deaths. It doesn't matter. Chill. If you're really obsessed with maintaining your full screen of ML50 blue numbers, you can turn your bots back on, it's fine. Or you can buy some more gil and pay the RMT to bot it for you. Just worked on a NM that had 58% hp when I oozed it and one shot lol Wonder if they broke HP down entirely or just vs those NMs. Probably the latter but...has anyone tried it outside of Limbus?
Asura.Iamaman said: » Wonder if they broke HP down entirely or just vs those NMs. Probably the latter but...has anyone tried it outside of Limbus? Already answered that fast It's probably the way mobs level down when interacted with, that's why the hp goes up (they got weaker and have less hp to fill the bar more) and then it counts 10% of the maximum instead of the new limit killing them. The nm's aren't supposed to have this mechanic, but that's what it looks like happens. Like they're becoming level 1, instead of 130. Just worked on a NM that had 58% hp when I oozed it and one shot lol Don't think it has anything to do with it's health, but how the numbers in the damage formula are stored and what happens when an enfeebling effect that deals damage interacts with the mob. Normally it just deals damage, but because they added something wonky to the damage calculation of mobs in Limbus, it's basically corrupting the formula and killing mobs instantly. https://finalfantasy.fandom.com/wiki/Overflow_glitch Different game but explains how these glitches occur https://youtu.be/cFYdr4X2Nqo?si=iSFW88GENdjM5Q4o Thorny might be savvy enough to explain what is going on with the damage calculation Asura.Iamaman said: » has anyone tried it outside of Limbus On a lark I tried it on Quetz and nothing happened. Would've been funny, though. Does it take 1 hit/DoT to kill it after Ooze, implying 1HP, or does it automatically die when ooze wears off?
Lakshmi.Byrth said: » Does it take 1 hit/DoT to kill it after Ooze, implying 1HP, or does it automatically die when ooze wears off? So -10% HP gives it 1 HP and then it dies to Bio. The three ways I see that happening are:
1. It has a native +1000% HP buff that gets overwritten to -10%, but they calculate the -10% max HP based off the buffed max HP. 2. It has native -90% max HP and ooze's -10% stacks with it. 3. Some form of even more al dente spaghetti code Anyway, sounds like next week will be a good week to farm chests if anyone on Lakshmi bothers exploiting this. if its dying to DoT, then that would heavily imply the HP down from Ooze is reducing its HP to a number between 1-15 and bio is finishing it off.
has anyone tried curse on them also or doom? i tried looking for anouther nm to test on, but i think they're all dead now.. unless some are hiding in apollyon

Way to be a total f'ing jerk! Some of us actually don't bot or pay for MLs, and it's obnoxious to have this exemplar sink. |
