June 2025 Version Update
Nsane said: » That being said there's a lot of hateful people on this forum, I wouldn't be surprised if in the next month or so we have a ban wave come through removing this type of player. I've updated my FFXI withdrawal diagram for 2025, to now include posting *** on FFXIAH, either to decieve people or because they simply can't look themselves in the mirror.
Asura.Aragan said: » You are like me, they will not believe you because they call you a liar and because they do not know, and if you tell them that it is a secret, they will never believe you unless you explain it to them and they see with their own eyes, and I have deleted my private topics and I will never say anything again. I am very sorry for what happened to you. I hope to see you soon. Somehow you showing up to *** suck a guy clearly cheating as if he is a martyr to the cause AND using the opportunity to try to earn yourself some pity points is so incredibly on brand that I'm shocked I hadn't expected it in the first place. You really are trash. The interesting part isn’t that he was cheating, as that didn’t hurt anyone here, or prevented you from succeeding or failing, it’s that for all the tools he used, he only score 130k. Any well organized group does 80-85K 9/9, so the difference isn’t that impressively big.
The other interesting part is SE doesn’t even check basic stats on runs, like north of 90 should be 100% investigated… if they were serious about cheaters. SE should also make a big banner in Adoulin, hold their accounts for 30 days in a cage up high for all to see and then have other file bail to take them out, as the first warning, that would be fun. lmao… I don't know how yall can cope so *** hard and even think ***like this.
You really think they investigate a single damn thing, I wish I was that level of naive. It's pretty obvious you can't get that many.. the *** are you thinking, they look at it and score it. Uh he's getting 91k but the maximum we measured is 90k instant ban! *** outta here. I wouldn't bother but I just keep seeing it. They would know, they would check, you can't do this, they know man they know. They. Don't. Care. (I did not say you won't get banned six months from now) There is a thousand people committing bannable offenses daily. FIVE of them will get banned. That's supposed to scare you into not being one of the thousand. You think they have the manpower to investigate individual sortie runs? I'd rather them spend dev power on the meager updates we still miraculously get. Yeah, sorry for it ended up being a wet noodle that everyone basically already knows. Again, this was probably just a result of me basically treating this game like a single-player FF game for the time I was playing. Unfortunately, up until this point I hadn't discussed what I was doing in depth with anyone really, so I never got any outside perspective of whether utilizing leashing to cleave multiple sectors simultaneously in Sortie was actually a novel idea or not. That's my mistake for assuming it was and I'll admit that.
In any case, when I spoke to Thorny a year ago, he made it pretty clear to me that there really wasn't any good reason why anyone would get into this game. In any serious capacity at least, so that's why I went in with the mentality I did. I decided just to play for what I genuinely enjoy, and not be limited by what the game thinks of me or what other players think of me. Although it's a shame that the way I play the game doesn't comply with the rules or conventional morality, in a way I think that's what makes these types of games uniquely beautiful. There is no clearly defined goal, and so there is no clearly defined path to said goals. So in a sense, you're free to play how you want (assuming you're okay with the potential risks/consequences of your actions), so that's what I did, and I enjoyed myself in a way that I don't think I ever would have playing the game "legit". But in any case, it's fair to assume that the reason why I posted this was that I was banned. Maybe there's some funny way I can take a silly selfie or something to pRoVe iT but I don't even think those methods are very reliable so it's w/e, you're free to believe what you want to believe. Since I never got to experience Sheol Gaol v25s, I technically have a reason to come back, but I just don't have the motivation right now. Maybe someday I'll come back (or maybe I'll end up getting banned while unsubbed?), in any case, it was fun while it lasted. I already spent way too much of my life grappling with that psychological addiction in MMOs so it's best to keep things short and sweet and not linger too long with this stuff. While the reception ultimately got a little heated with some people due to the twisted expectations I mistakenly set up, I appreciate hearing everyone's input/thoughts around my experience and am grateful for the discussion, so thanks for that! You are so far up your own *** I bet you can see your molars.
It's not "rules of conventional morality" its the rules of the game as determined by Square Enix. Sod off with your "I'm ahead of the curve and your morality" ***. Kaffy said: » it only took 1 day to go from "130k is impossible" to "they did all that and can only get 130k?". pretty silly. in a game of marginal 1-2% performance increases a gain of 150% is pretty damn good. No, it went from "130k is impossible without using an exploit?" to "you used an exploit THAT egregious and ONLY got 130k?". In any serious capacity at least, so that's why I went in with the mentality I did. Meh, it's my money. I paid SE $60 a month for a game I probably played like 4 hours a month until the crysta expired and I forgot about it until I reactivate it again.
Then guess what. I spent the next 3 days fiddling with macros and UI and whatever only to ended up trying to fight Qin but forgot how to cure myself and and blood ported back to town at 99% HP. Of course, I tried again after figuring out how to cure only to ended up blood porting again because I couldn't self skillchain on mnk, because wrong gear set or something, to do any damage. Then I spent the next week playing a totally different game only to ended up leveling War on one of my characters. Solo. Until I realized I could simply power level myself. Then I don't even know what to do with war on a pocket whm so I went back to do Sortie and died to some normal mob after getting doomed. It's not really about making a ton of progress in a game that already have a drinking license. It's just whatever floats your boats. Quote: Eventually, I started experimenting, just doing insanely silly routes, going into sectors and doing objectives no one had ever talked about. I started progressing even farther-- 90k, then 95k, then 100k per run. I don't think most people will believe me but I am now pulling between 110-120k galli per run, using a completely unorthodox strategy for the mid-run section while still doing all boss sections with the usual standard strats (Aminon dnc, kite Aita/Gartell, etc). Translation. I teleport around the zone so I have no travel time, and when I do run it's at 800% speed. All you losers making 85K or less per run could learn a thing or two from my super secret totally never before heard of methods. Wow, that's so cool! No really. Nobody would have ever suspected THAT was how you were pulling 130k. Oh wait.... except for literally the whole form who called you out for that exact thing three or four pages in a row while you tried to candy coat it and make it sound like you were playing vanilla or at best exploiting some benign bug. /facepalm Caitsith.Sepo said: » Yeah, sorry for it ended up being a wet noodle that everyone basically already knows. Are you still talking? Go away. You would have been so much better off if you'd just said, "I, as an adult human being of sound mind, decided that playing this twenty-five year old video game on its own terms was beneath me"

Classic example would be spamming single prices for currency stacks to catch anyone instantly who made a mistake while placing their goods on the AH.
Basically the cheater equivalent of bazaar scumming where some intentionally set stack prices for singles. What zone is this abcdefugay? I saw him speed-hacking, fighting bosses I had never seen before... Looks Vagary. Jesus I didnt know they had a event like that in ffxi. What is it for? I bet its super fun and won't require me to play every single day for 6 months straight to get a weapon. That would suck
It's Vagary 2.0. Just as boring, but you have a time limit of 1hr before you want to blood warp back home.
Bidder is super dangerous last I heard because if you don't think about what you are doing you can spam the ah faster than is allowed causing a flag
I don't have a confirmation of this but I read it while looking for a way to buy stones lol I just did it manually wasn't worth the risk LightningHelix said: » but doing the one when you say you're doing the other, lol, lmao In their defence, they did lead very early on with saying it was not legit and involved an exploit. The "trick" people are not picking up on, is the individual figured out the exploit where if you rapidly teleport your Y axis up and down with enemies aggro'ing you, it causes the enemies to teleport right on top of you. Which seems like not a big deal, but it is a genuinely valid contributing exploit to their boost, because it shaves off entire minutes of how long it takes to pull and cleave enemies, you dont have to wait for them to waddle over to you, you can gather up the entire basement pretty fast doing ***like that. And, yeah, people don't discuss that trick often, so that is easy to see why they viewed that specific part of the trick as their "discovery" because, to be honest, I forgot that was a thing myself until I read this thread and was like "Oh yeah, thats a thing" when Thorny mentioned it. And I agree with Thorny, if you did that trick at its utter limit, you could possibly pull in those insane numbers because you could cleave and rematerialize entire zones pretty fast. The flee hacking and etc was the means to the actual exploit (Im gonna call it Y juggling) ends. Note: I also however agree on the points that getting this many muffins is pointless since you still are hard capped by item drops for progression. I also will however empathize with the desire to try and "break" the game as someones source of fun, because *** it why not, lord knows I've seen enough insane mario 64 speed run videos that do crazy ***celebrated that I'm not gonna yuck someones yum over that. Especially when they specifically seem to have chosen content to "break" that has no external economical impact on the rest of us. I'd be a lil cheesed if they had chosen to "break" content in a way to try and flood the market with something or whatever. But trying to push to break Sortie of all things as a passing fun thing to do isn't a big deal in my books, *** it mate have fun lol.
