Think someone said there were 10 adds in the dats, so I would at least that many. Definitely can call adds early on, it's not based on her health. But can only summon after using Primordial Surge > Waning Vigor. If you kill it too fast, you won't see many, but if you intentionally don't kill her you will.
One other thing - I was 2boxing earlier and on one screen an add was a taru and the other screen it was Elvaan, wtf caused that? IT was an Elvaan afaik.

She can't summon adds before this point, and you could force her to use TP by spamming low spells (during surge), then post surge do the kite/grav/silence/stoneskin strat thing so she never gets any more TP to use moves after Surge. You're chunking a good bit of health early on in the fight where the threat is low, and just resuming the same strategy post-surge. Asking (cuz I havent tried SCH method) Unless I'm missing something, I don't think that's a bad approach to take. I personally play it super conservatively and just kite for a few minutes longer since I know I'm not in danger of timing out (and the zone is always empty so I'm not making people wait).

You definitely need to be in range for it to use waning vigor. It will continue in that mode forever until it catches its target and attempts the move (even if it misses). Not sure of the exact range, but it's probably 10-15 yalms.
I don't think this has been mentioned, but if it hasn't, I believe it can absorb Blink with Absorb-Attri. So definitely a good reason not to use it.

In the case of all merit battles, gear only drops to the treasure pool, and direct drops are limited to chapters and stones. Both times, he used physical absorb, something he's NEVER done when I just went in SCH without trusts. One time, several trusts died to AOE before the move but he still absorbed physical. I'm about 95% certain that his absorb type is determined by the jobs present on pull, including trusts. Got my 2nd mask, also on VE (but with no TH).
Did last few as WAR+BRD with Yoran, Koru, Qultada, Joachim and it never absorbed melee damage so it might be true about jobs but my sample size is only 4 fights and I don't need to to this ***ever again so can't confirm further. Probably already been stated but using gravity2 to kite this makes it an effortless 30sec fight.
Seems to require current target to be within a specific range, not sure on the exact, to even use the first prim surge, let alone other tp moves. As long the tank stays far enough away it never uses prim surge (or anything TP move related). Pull, Gravity2, Dia3, Tank uses JAs and starts kiting, everyone else engage, Don't think the DDs even matter to be honest, been using pld, rdm, brd, cor, war, thf. All engaged, all spamming savage blade while PLD kites around outside, dies in 30~ seconds. I got all 4 drops under 40 tries on VE with TH4.
Solo PUP w/ trusts. Have automaton hold the boss full-time while you pick off adds with trusts. I have probably done ~15 so far on Easy as MNK/DRG+WHM/RDM (TH4) with trusts (August, Arciela 1, Sylvie UC, Ygnas) and have back/neck accessories for both characters but no waist or masks.
VD with 6 box.
MNK/DNC - COR/THF - RDM/SCH - BRD/BLM - GEO/BLM - WHM/SCH MNK: Only DPS on boss. Capped Subtl Blow and uses chi blast/shijin to avoid tp moves (due to adds spawning by them) 3 step light with Vere and impetus. Rerolling it after RD/WC. COR: Light shot for Dia4 + TH. Chaos/Sam roll and RD/WC/RD for ES lullabys adds. RDM: Debuff duty. Resist some even on Mlvl.32. Backup by indi focus on initial debuffs. Dispel on first primordial if magic absorb. BRD: Melee songs and ES lullaby duty when adds pops. Dispel on first primordial if magic absorb. GEO: Indi focus until debuffs landed. Then fury + frailty and entrust str. WHM: Heals. Asylum duty if 2nd primordial happends before it dies as it is a full dispel. (Not happening in the video). I got melee absorb on 1st Primordial this time. But it seems to be random as both happends with this strat. Much easier when magic absorb. Just don't SC during it. Been lucky on belt, neck, back. Only missing out Masque as it seems to be lower drop rate. Usually drops 2 items on VD if party needs all items. I used solo SCH and it was very easy to get all items.
For this boss, I had: 3 VE Solo THF 1 E Solo THF 1 N Solo SCH to unlock D and VD 3 D Solo SCH Masque dropped on my 3rd D attempt. All others dropped before. Full buff -> Pull with buffed light helix. Run around keeping stoneskin / helix up. Takes about 22 minutes for the helix to kill him. -Gravity started resisting or 1 sec duration by the end of 22 min, but is not needed at all. -silence makes this harder, when he stops to cast just move out to 30 and reapply new stoneskin and phalanx. -paralyze lands but isn't needed. -Don't feed tp through self skillchains. It's not needed. hmm since some ppl still think they NEED a MNK or subtle blow to zerg this fight, here's the video i mentioned weeks ago.
Zerging with plenty of ppl DDing on it.. no subtle blow, no MNK inihibit TP etc etc, just a quick and stupid unga bunga ZERG (a bit slower than the video if you get physical absorb red eyes). Although this strat is almost braindead, the overall safest imho is the Gravity + kiting one.. since like that you'll seriously never ever see adds since it will never use TP moves as long as tank is beyond 17y+ ( instead of 15+ accounting for lag spikes) YouTube Video Placeholder Is there some sort of unlisted mechanic in this fight
Where it can wipe single buffs? Not via absorb attributes or expunged. Also I am noticing this at the very start I will lose a song or a roll from what appears to be a certain swing animation I can't tell if it's my imagination. It can be soloed by RDM at Difficult (D) with the typical enspell strat. I still need to try at VD because I feel that the accuracy and damage will be tight to kill it on time.
