I lost one of my accounts last night. I woke up to the "Same character was accessed from another terminal" error. Password was changed, I was unable to access the account through SE account management. I've been struggling to get answers. I called SE and gave them my info, the email where I get my billing payments every month and they said that the email doesn't exist in their system, how is that even possible??? I get the monthly email from SE every time the payment is due and when it's paid but they can't link it to the account? It makes no sense...
This account was my brother's and he had bought this account over 12 years ago, it was a bare account, didn't have much of anything.
Neneto Goldsmither and Llewelyn Smither with Escutcheon Shield... gone. Lots of years of work, gone.
If anyone knows of their whereabouts, please DM me.

It sounds like the original owner or a previous person in the chain of ownership, reclaimed the account, but after 12 years?
It's unlikely SE knows every email you used for billing. It was likely reclaimed and changed :(

The creator of the account is the sole owner. It's against ToS to buy/sell accounts so even if you could prove that you purchased the account from the owner, you're basically admitting to violating.
I'm actually surprised you had the nads to call them. Do you have a transcript?

I mean...he doesn't have to say "I bought this account, I'd like it back now". If I were in his position, I'd say "I need to reset my password, the POL ID is XYZ, Squenix ID is ABC, I can give you the card, email, etc. can you help me recover it?" and not mention anything about buying or any previous owners of the account.
It is true though, he's probably absolutely *** and has no recourse to recover it from the original owner. If any investigation is done, the original owner will get the account.
That's the risk you take when you take over someone else's account, through buying, friends, or whatever. If it isn't originally yours, you're at their mercy.

"Please click the 'Forgot my ID or password' link located on the login page and follow the instructions to reset your password."
This also doesn't address the actual issue, which is what would lead to exposing yourself as a fraud.

Unfortunately, original owner can recall at any time by simply signing a form saying they did not sell the account, having it notarized, and mailing it in. SE will give the account back to them no questions asked. It is unfortunate to see this happen after 12 years, but it is a major drawback to buying an account that wasn't made to sell.. people have a funny relationship with this game and a considerable portion of bought accounts end up like this.
It won't do you any good to find it, you're not likely to get it back. They probably renamed it anyway.
It wasn't a 'bare account' without much of anything either, the original bismarck.llewelyn was a frequent poster here and seemed to know their ***. They had 23 RME scanned in 2014, including 4 mythics. It was probably the best DPS account on the market at the time you bought it.

The original Llewelyn and mine aren’t the same. The Llewelyn I had came from another server, coincidentally they had the same name. When it came here, it was a level 1 Galka. Lol I always was asked if I was the original one. The original Llewelyn got banned from what I heard. You are right tho, I’m outta luck.

Ok... You bought a level 1 galka rather than just buying an new copy of the game? I mean it must have been cheaper to buy the account I am guessing, and now you know why that was the case

Lol, Neneto was the "main" char with main PLD, Llewelyn was just one of the 4 additional mules in that account. Whoever sold it must've loved galkas because they were all galkas haha... Anyway, it didn't directly buy it, it was my brother who did and just gave it to me. It's what it is.

Who bought it, is kinda irrelevant. You used a account that was already breaching the TOS. Sadly this sort of thing is just a matter of time.
Using Windower and whatnot is one thing and accepted but I wouldn't purchase a account when it could get taken away at any time.

We're way past the point where this really can be useful information, but as Thorny just did, you can look up characters on sites like this and they are at least somewhat reliable. If someone sold you an account 12 years ago, there is nothing to stop them from looking up the name here to see how their 'investment' has grown and to get it back so they can sell it again. And the reality is that they don't really need to verify it. People that buy accounts are going to start using them immediately and so the first couple of months are going to be the person putting in all the work to fix up a character.
My wife bought me a WHM account as a birthday present once. It worked great for like 3 months and then one day it was gone. I hadn't put anything good on it but it had like 1 random piece for other jobs like an omen body or random rare stuff so that if you took this whm and turned it into something else, then you would have done a ton of work fixing up this account for the owner. And then they would turn around and sell it as a WHM + whatever work you did.
If you didn't make the account, it's not yours and the resell market is very large for this game considering how small the population actually has become.

Yup, it's gone. It's what it is, I see the person already moved the chars from Bismarck. Nothing I can do but let it go. Tough luck they call it. Thanks all.

Now you can make a better account without filthy Galkas.
