They've got a major advantage due to the time this thing started and had a much better shot at getting 2 sets of quests than the rest of us.
If you missed day one youre already out as far as titles, for sure.
That crackhead motivation I mentioned before it even went live lol
Not to mention, as there will be dozens of people with maxed scores, whoever registers as close as possible to midnight on the last day after having completed that days tasks will win. They have a significant advantage on the last day registration, (and the first day)

That was stressful. Vana'bout is stressing me out. Promy - Dem fight clearable with three beastmasters with no gear, merits, or job points, all using Sweet Caroline; two used Familiar, and one of those used Reward once. Dunno if it was a gear difference or if level cap hits harder the bigger the difference, but the level 50ish lizard in the screenshot a page ago did, like, way better.

What if I told you that if the objective is ridiculous, you dont have to do it, it will cycle out.
You probably werent gonna finish top ten for a title anyways, which will change once you kill a Sortie boss or do DI etc, and missing out on 30 plaudits isnt gonna cost you a gold tier reward.

That's the thing, objectives don't seem to cycle out until the day after they're given. If I fail it on day 2, it's still there on day 3, so if I still can't do it that's double that slot's value gone.
I'm still in the running for top 10 on Fenrir though, only objective I don't know if I can do is 22000 gallantry. Now, let's see what today's dailies bring...
Clear an Ambuscade
Heal 300+ Damage
Deal 500+ Fire Damage
Tiger's Fang - Quest "Tiger's Teeth"
Monster Rearing
Magic Bursts
Pioneer - 2 colonization reives
Mercenary Camp - Oh wow this sounds worse than Heroes' Combat
Sinister Reign - Has to be the full three-course fight

Glad they are looking into it, I did get new objectives just now so I'm glad I can continue at least.

Oh! Forgot to say: Characters that had carry-over objectives from day 1 seem to just have a full slate of day 3 objectives, regardless of which were completed on day 2. No day 2 objectives noted (cleared 500+ Water Damage and got 500+ Fire Damage rather than 500+ Wind Damage.)

One thing I was wondering, is the daily total the same from day to day?

it should be, the old 10 should become a new 10, old 20 a new 20 etc

OH! Ok. So I assumed they would load day 2 objectives, not skip day 2. So it's more like Set 1a and 1b where you have the 2 days to complete both, if you fall 2 behind it skips forward.
You get 2 days, then they rotate out. Its explained in the freshly picked... poorly. They are extremely bad at explaining. (even with a *** picture!) Over complicating it.

do I need to be sort of in a hurry to finish the non-daily objectives? or will those never reset during this campaign.

I would definitely try to do Uninvited Guests before Sunday, it's by far the easiest of the weekly routine objectives.

They shouldn't reset.. but if they *** it up, you should get them done so you can cheat the score at the end by getting them twice.

I think it works in reverse, most recently submitted scores are at the top. I submitted my score and was listed as #1, then someone else submitted the same score and they were put above me in the list.
I'd assume if there are ties then everyone who tied the score would earn the rank/title/whatever.
As was said elsewhere, your title will change constantly so titles in FFXI are a really irrelevant reward unless you're one of the psychos who tries to collect them all.

I do suppose if there are 10+ all tied for first, they will all get it.
But the spaghetti makes nothing certain. It could certainly still pick first 10.
(And of course if you screenshot yourself in first, well it's your screenshot)

Eh, I don't think it's really about the title itself. All the objectives are casual friendly, so it's a way for intermediate players to rank themselves against others. People like being #1.
[It's obviously to introduce maximum objective FOMO too, since you can't miss any objectives if you want #1.]

Ehhhn... debatable. It's foolproof but so time-consuming. Requiem for Sin is a no-cap 75-era fight; if you have aoe you can clear it in one use. There's still a bit of running around but like, six minutes versus fifteen.

I don't see how one is any harder than the other except Uninvited Guests doesn't have a prerequisite quest. You just talk to Justinius, who's right by the HP, then warp to Riverne, one-shot some mammets and warp back to Tavnazia. Am I missing something?

Ah, no, that's my bad; I had that confused for the Bastok quest with the switches. I remember looking at the mammet one and thinking "ew, too much; pass" - I think it's because it opens with "go through Riverne", and "or use the home point" was past my TL;DR limit.
So yeah. Uninvited Guests and Requiem for Sin for anyone who want to knock that out in the first week with the least trouble possible. (The prerequisite quest for Requiem of Sin is literally the same fight but easier, still faster than escort missions or the heist in Bastok.)

Uninvited guests is time consuming?? Tf?????
I didnt have tracker quest on some alts either, but the aht urgan weakness one is quick too. Pick lamia, SG to arrapago, run to the pop location 10 sec away in cardarva, kill lamia, warp and pick any two answers. Wait a minute, get credit for completion even if both are wrong.

[It's obviously to introduce maximum objective FOMO too, since you can't miss any objectives if you want #1.] Even if you don’t miss a single objective though it’s still luck as I don’t see SE giving bonus objectives to those who didn’t receive objective due to the now confirmed bug and most non JP players were handicapped out of it by the first day being 7 hours long when most people were asleep or at work. If FOMO was a factor in planing it they didn’t do a good job of it. I will probably just get to silver tier and get the deeds and probably not put forth much beyond that

Already half way there, EU and NA don't have quite the same fervor as the JP, so it will take 4 days instead of 2 but still locked in unless something redickulous happens.

Starting to get a handle on Mercenary Camp.
The generals politely wait for you to attack, and if you go one at a time then the next one joins in when the current one hits ~20% HP, per BG wiki.
If your current target doesn't drop below 20% HP before dying, then you skip that trigger, and you'll have four generals politely waiting their turn.
A volley of three flares instantly triggers Mihli's benediction (unskippable, sadly) and then if you can bind her you can take her out with another volley of ancient magic.
That's about where I ran out of MP, but if you go in with three or more black mages, a source of refresh, and Manafont at the ready, it should be as easy as showing each general in turn your ancient magic collection.

Halcyon Rod is the fastest also (even though I have ebisu+1).
All of this ignores that you didn't get a red glowing rod for efficiency or money. You got it because THIS ROD OF MINE IS BURNING RED! ITS LOUD ROAR TELLS ME TO GRASP VICTORYFISH!
Do it with Ebisu+1/Lu+1 for the style points, not the plaudits.

I've never seen any wiki, guide, or testing showing that fish bites are based on how much skill you have. You can hook fish that are 50+ levels higher than your current skill, it happens all the time. Fish are not restricted by your skill, in my experience.
Halcyon can catch Quus, Bastore Sardine, and Cone Calamary, just like Ebisu or Lu Shang.
I have no idea why being low skill or using a Halcyon would make fishing up sardines any easier. Anecdotes aside, I don't believe either of these are factors.

Going to fail even harder than the first try.
Hope you like fishing.
Absolutely no one is going to get on the boat and fish every day for 2 weeks. Not even the hardest core Stan. *(unless the gold reward is f.u.c.k.i.n.g. a.m.a.z.i.n.g.)
Silver Tier was lowered from 900 to 750
If you want a top ten exclusive title you better be awake at jp midnight on the last day and register first.
In fairness the OP was just to be incendiary.
