Sortie Release - Info
Went in killed Obdella, got the red chest. Killed elementals for Blue Casket, killed Porxie, got red chest. Killed Bhoot with Last Stand and Light skillchains, nothing. Killed Delitarius and 3 Demisang, got red chest. Killed Bhoot again, still nothing....
Only thing I can say is that my WS do between 8-13k which may not be enough damage to proc it. So far all objectives could be reasonably soloed by one person with trusts. I don’t think requiring boss kills fits the pattern. It could be requiring 2 NM kills (boss or mini) plus high enough WS damage. Agro is:
Leeches, Acuex, and Obdella: Sound Hecteyes: Sound Magic Elementals: Magic Umbrils and Porxie: Sight Magic Ghosts and Bhoot: Sound HP Corse: Sight HP Ghouls: Sight Sound HP Fomor: Sight Sound *for w/e reason Fomor are not undead in this zone. Today we did all of A objectives + the NM
Rotated to D and grabbed the D NM, then killed the party for the blue chest with 4-steps for brown chests + Red chest all at once. Rotated back to C and we put up sneak/invis and bolters roll and found the Bhoot. We pulled it WITHOUT aggroing anything. Did 3-step Radiance Skillchain with GEO and RDM bursting Fire V. Killed it with a Fire V magic burst. Red Chest Dropped Continued to farm C for the shard/metal. Killed Skomora. Rotated Back to B and picked up Porxie for the aurumn chest. Didnt bother to do the Red chest by getting blue first, but realized i had plenty of time, so I repopped the Porxie at the device and farmed up for chests, etc and killed the Porxie again. Chest off Bhoot this run. It was the first thing we saw upon first entering C through a locked door. Only did Savage/Expiacion spam with a few random Distortions here and there. No magic bursts were performed. Magic Bursts appear irrelevant in obtaining chest off Bhoot. Kill time was 50 seconds.
To get C blue casket if you kill 5-12 mobs while doing at least 1 50k-69k (we had issues if people did over ~74k) phy ws on them one it will drop. We have everyone assist and hit the same mob and we train down mobs and it takes normally 6 mobs in about ~90 seconds. The most its taken me is 12 kills using this method but I have been able to constantly get this blue casket 1 in C doing this.
A bit more speculation on bhoot the important disqualifying condition is killing nothing else in C (maybe not even aggro anything) and kill bhoot. The additional condition might simple complete x(10+?) amount of objectives before doing him. The objectives our groups did were ~6/7 A and most of B objectives. It could be just one of these objectives need to be completed or just maybe x(10+)first? but what I can say pretty confidently is it need to have nothing else killed in C (unsure if nothing else aggro). If you reset C mobs this allows bhoot to drop chest again.
I’ve killed this NM countless times as the first and only thing in C. There is definitely another thing to it. I don’t pull or aggro anything, not even the Bhoot, as I approach it with sneak. it being the first thing to die is not the whole trigger.
If you want to go by pattern, then the first red chest has the condition of Obdella being killed, the second red chest has two conditions, blue casket and Porxie death, the fourth chest kind of has two conditions, but a total of 4 monsters that need to die. So could there be three conditions that need to be met? I’m trying to consider that every trigger so far could be done solo if you are on the appropriate job that can both nuke and dd. Having it be very complicated is what is unlikely. It being the third NM, the conditions should be easier than the D NM. It’s so obscure. Offline

So, does that mean if you kill Abject Obdella in sector A, get Coffer #A, and then if you reset the mobs for sector A at Device #A, you can kill Abject Obdella a second time and get a second Coffer #A?
Is there any downside to doing this besides the time it takes? Do you loose the Ra'Kaznar plate A temp item, or anything weird like that? Once you clear an objective and get a chest to spawn, it won’t spawn again. The NM will still give galli points.

Just did a run where I did A obj then teleported to C, opened C gate as someone mentioned coming in from D side. Had to open C3 and 1 (also didnt open ANY B gate and got the C1 chest) then killed Bhoot NM without aggro or killing anything else in C. No red chest. I was on RNG doing Trueflight for 40k+, no MB or SC. KujahFoxfire said: » Would perhaps stand to reason that C is indeed 2 two things before or after killing it to get the red, but as we've seen the NM itself drop I'd say before. Yea maybe you are right and it has nothing to do with how you kill it but whether you meet the two conditions, such as first to die and something from area A and/or B. Something being affected by the progress in another area is also unusual. I got a C Blue Casket today. It was Watersday and this is my log below. Casket spawn is at timestamp 13:47:00. I had got both C shard and Metal and killed Bhoot NM.
LogCcasket Edit: Summary- Besides the initial 6 Skeles with a single thunder MB for Shard/Metal no magic besides Dia II and Geo-Frailty were used. Besides one Ukkos all WSs were Upheaval with Light SCs and one Radiance in there somewhere. The casket popped on chain 16. It was also the 10th time I did not kill the same type of Skele in a row i.e. Ghoul > Skeleton or Skeleton > Ghoul. Bhoot kill today with coffer. I think these would be the relevant highlights:
Previous no drop runs I tried fusion/light skillchains with fire bursts, killing with magic, first kill. Those kills were all a bit slower than todays. I'm leaning toward kill speed or darkness damage of a certain amount, since I recall someone saying Gravitation kill gave them the coffer Quetzalcoatl.Carste said: » Bhoot kill today with coffer. Anybody knows why FFXIDB doens't work anymore inside Sortie? Used to work on release day or shortly after but now it doesn't load anymore inside the zone :x
Also does objective A/2 work with trust as well, if you bring an enemy close to the thingy?

Yeah it does work, even if its the enemy casting Asura.Sechs said: » Anybody knows why FFXIDB doens't work anymore inside Sortie? If it's U1, then that's surprising. If you guys reload it, does it start working?
Also, are you using custom maps? Are you using XIPivot? Lakshmi.Byrth said: » If you guys reload it, does it start working? Also, are you using custom maps? Are you using XIPivot? On the other 4 runs (after the server mini-update) it never loaded for me. I tried unloading and reloading it multiple times but nope, it doesn't show on screen. If there's some other specific test I can do I'll be more than willing to try. ffxidb (and probably mappy) are loading the zone from game .dats unless the user has configured some other method of providing maps (XIPivot or the custom_maps configuration.) It isn't like we need to add the new zone ID to a list or something. Everything is intended to be automatic.
The most likely option is that something is weird about the U2 maps and it doesn't work in there, but in that case we wouldn't expect Sechs to have ever been able to load it. Perhaps they changed something in the mini-update. I can't tell which zone (U1 or U2) I was in my first run ever and in my following ~4, I should've checked but I didn't, sorry.
I can only say what I already said, that it worked flawlessly on the first run (happened before SE did a mini server update) and it never loaded in the following ones (after server update), despite me attempting to unload/reload a couple of times (only did this on run #2 and #3 I'd dare to say. Didn't bother to try the reload thing again on run #4 and #5 which I did both today) Oh also, unrelated to FFXIDB, I noticed there's a point of the B map (with the dark and earth elementals I think?) where the map doesn't work. I mean the general map, the in-game one. It says "no map available". That must be a section of ra'kaznar with no map dat or something? I can't say. |
