Mastery Rank Data
The free races don't give a lot of points per race but they don't escalate in gil price that quickly either - just grind it up to like the 10k race and you'll get something like 50 Chocobucks, that's 3 days!
Egg helm, I believe, does not help you get skill ups. I could be wrong but I never saw wing skill up on any item retrieved from this .

Funny thing, which is totally a coincidence but still I found it funny Took me 8 successful digs to get from skill 6 to 7 Took me 9 successful digs to get from 7 to 8 Took me 10 successful digs to get from 8 to 9 Took me 11 successful digs to get from 9 to 10 XD How do you tell when you've reach your daily digs limit? Do you get a message or you simply don't dig items anymore? It resets at JP midnight I assume, right? 14 digs for 10 to 11 13 digs for 11 to 12 15 digs for 12 to 13 :p edit: yeah, 13 successful digs to hit level 12, it's not just the level number. I did 3 characters on the first day and trying to squeeze in more for data but I was mainly looking at which Racing Silks body to use.
Char 1 had level 1 Wing Skill (which is seemingly just 1 successful dig, so something to keep in mind) while all others had never dug before and had Wing Skill 0. Char 1: Rental Bird/No Silks Char 2: Sky Blue Silks (Chocoobo Digging Skill +) Char 3: Blue Silks (Chocobo Digging Endurance +) After digging to cap in South Gustaberg: Final Skill Level: Char 1/No Body: Wing Skill 13 Char 2/Sky Blue Skill: Wing Skill 14 - 99 items dug (hit cap of 100, but did not level up again so it is omitted here. 55 Valuable Knowledge procs. Char 3/Blue Skill Endurance: Wing Skill 19 - 219 items dug up, of which he hit Wing Skill 19 after 217 successful digs. 119 Found With Ease procs. Per level breakdown for the bodies:
Huh. That's miles better than I would have expected. Probably should change my default recommendation then!

271 total digs 104 successful digs Level 13 to 14 = 16 successful digs Level 14 to 15 = 19 successful digs Level 15 to 16 = 22 successful digs Level 16 to 17 = 23 successful digs Level 17 to 18 = 26 successful digs ~26 mins of time i just created some shitty addon (used chatgpt for the UI cuz i suck at this) and used somecode from here and there in github
XIChecklist //lua load xichecklist , then zone to get the UI menu updated (yes i suck at this) screnshot ![]() the menu will only show missing items like quests, key items, spells, home points, suvivsal guides , waypoint etc ![]() ![]() need help mapping the warps_waypoints.lua correctly if you'd like to help add more plz do im total noob and this my first time Thought I'd post some findings for science:
I finally got rank 7 after obtaining 308 more titles (around 705~ total) 201 more RoEs (from the intial login change to MR from the update in NOV?) Around 55% of Monstrosity completed in terms of levels and species unlocked. (0 level 99, mostly all 40-80 / not all species unlocked) 80 unique Campaign ops + Fiat Lux (S) + Medal of Altana Mog garden stuff ranked 3 > 5 6 new Survival guide unlocks. 95% of sandy side quests done 60% of windy side quests done 75% of Adoulin side quests done 20% of Jeuno side quests done Wing skill of 8 2/3 addon missions. Moogle + Shantotto completions. (forgot to add in initial write-up) Windurst rank 7 > 10 <<<< (this is what ranked me up to 7, the moment I finished rank 10 Windurst mission) The moment I hit rank 7 I decided to drop my Medal of Altana and work back up to rank 7 and see how much "weight" it had (The wiki's "confirmed" weight is definitely missing context.) To get back to rank 7 I needed to do 34 quests that rewarded titles (I only done side quests that rewarded titles) 6 more RoEs (simple kill x amount of enemies in zone) 1 new survival guide unlock 3 NM title kills - (Jormungand, Boroka + King Vinegarroon) 11 Wing skill for total of 19. Ranked back up to 7 after killing the NM King Vinegarroon Being that we cannot know the point value of any thing, it was silly to attempt to assign it a value.
A title for buying a piece of gear doesn't hold the same value as a title for killing an HNM for example. Not to mention killing the NM would count AND the title would count, it's double weighted. Any quest that gives a title is double weighted. 95% of the titles are achieved by completing an activity. They're nearly all differently weighted. The only ones that aren't are the buy a conquest item or a craft furnishing. All that should have ever been "confirmed" is medal of altana is "significant" in that it is worth "multiple" "points". Asura.Eiryl said: » Being that we cannot know the point value of any thing, it was silly to attempt to assign it a value. Why are you the way that you are? Because correcting misinformation matters
Everyone keeps trying to assign priority and value. Just *** do the content. Stop trying to get exactly 50 points. Stop stressing patterns. You're over complicating it. Whether its worth 1 or 5 or 30 or 2000 it's irrelevant. you have to do it all if you want rank 10. To accurately attain the value of meda of altana would take multiple accounts doing the absolute identical everything altering by 1 objective for weeks. And at best it'd be a guess. There only exists one thing in the entire game you can lose mastery from. You have no comparison. It is worth knowing that things dont hold the same weight. Anyone who's been doing this for a brief period can come to the same conclusion.
I agree trying to pinpoint "By how much" is a fools errand. I disagree in the notion that finding out which things are worth the most "weight" isn't worth the effort. Not everyone will be psychotic like me and many others in this thread and chase 9/10. Many will want 7 or 8 and settle, and knowing the most important things to do for that goal allows them to make better decisions. It doesn't matter how much it's worth, only how long it takes.
You wouldn't chase a 10 point that takes 3 days over something that takes 5 minutes, even if it's only 1 point. You do what takes the least effort and you work up. MSQ aside, as all of that is more or less mandatory. (or use common sense. dig every day. garden every day. if it's a multi day task you have to start tackling it sooner than later) When I played Warframe, I (and many others do) kept playing purely to level up mastery rank on the game. You get other stuff (guns, frames etc) you don't even need or want purely to boost the completionist number up.
FFXI in effect has this now, but they a) don't give you a reward for working on it (they should change nation rank on search to mastery rank at this point cause players can see that and nation rank no longer means anything) and B) they make it so confusing that barely anyone past a small handful even engage with it. There are so many things in this game that could be turned into good things but they don't have enough people to bother, since Fujito refuses to hire anyone else past 2 people +1. Just add RoE objective page to get the ranks, do 200 quests or whatever the things are. Hoxne Earring at mastery rank 8+ is really good, been going through and checking each ws and it now not only gets into physical ws for jobs that don't have a good JSE ws earring but it also has started fitting into a lot of elemental ws.
That said, yes Mastery rank makes way more sense to list than your nation rank and being able to show off all that work as something other than slightly better ws's on some jobs would be cool. Ranked back up to 7 after killing the NM King Vinegarroon does resetting AF quest memory reduce mastery rank ? would be nice way to test other stuff. Each Quest "Grouping" i.e.; Windy, Sandy, Outlands, Other, Aht Urgan should reward a unique mount for finishing them all (or the majority if they dont want certain dumb ones on the list)
Adoulin essentially has this in the mog garden w/ the Morbol or the ring / Ygnas / body+hands lockstyles. The fact that the other nations don't have it leaves 99% of players not completing the content. The thing is that the hoxne earring existing is enough to get a handful of people doing it alone so they probably dont see any incentive to add more rewards to the system. I'm simply saying it'd be nice. I've always been a proponent of lockstyle/for fun stuff being locked behind completionism tasks I did a second Master Trial and I am still rank 8!

More stats from Hoxne Earring and that's it.

It's another version of a status symbol/virtual trophy that players can achieve, just a personal achievement. No different than a master trial weapon or rare titles. So instead of bragging that you have cap gil or all ML50 jobs(not impressive anymore), you can brag that you have the highest achievable rank in the game across the board :) Asura.Sechs said: » Asura.Sechs said: » Second session 271 total digs 104 successful digs Level 13 to 14 = 16 successful digs Level 14 to 15 = 19 successful digs Level 15 to 16 = 22 successful digs Level 16 to 17 = 23 successful digs Level 17 to 18 = 26 successful digs ~26 mins of time Total digs: 291 Total succesful digs: 100 (why? shouldn't it have been 104 like yesterday?) 18 to 19 => 22 succesful digs 19 to 20 => 25 succesful digs 20 to 21 => 24 succesful digs 21 to 22 => 28 succesful digs Total dig attempts: 248 Total successful digs: 100 T_T 22 to 23 => 29 successful digs 23 to 24 => 34 successful digs 24 to 25 => 35 successful digs 25 to 26 => 1+ Weeeeell, what can I say, this is righfully slowing down quite a bit. I was honestly hoping to reach 40ish a bit faster but I guess not. Outside of the campaign this must feel worse than hitting your bollux with a very heavy iron hammer. For spilling chocobo digging is there certain zones to be in at certain level ranges? Currently around 35 and in jungle outside SSG. Not sure if I can stay there for long time or not. Also ffxiclopedia mentions rank test items and some areas being better for skilling up vs making money. Thanks.

I 1-100'd in Sarutabaruta I went by their info on zones due to having larger "common" item pools, leading to more frequent successes at lower levels. Not sure how accurate it all is though, given its 10 + year old info |
