And that's still "fine"

Half of eligible voters don't bother voting in the first place. That's a statistic that should be appalling. Not that 3% of the ones that do vote won't get counted. Mild by comparison.

This is a really interesting story. AND, I specifically sought out the CBS News one, so nobody who doesn't like it's take can blame political conservative bias.

CBS is agist. They hate anyone under the age of 65, as clearly shown by their prime-time lineup.

97% is better than you should even expect. As far as "oh noes we lost 3%" You should be ecstatic they only lost 3%

It appears the professional investigative reporter with his well researched examples disagrees with you that 3% is, "no biggie."

Also, it shows the myriad of examples where even excluding fraud, mass mail-in voting will have many issues.

Let me ask, WHY exactly are you (or anyone) so hell bent on favoring mail-in voting? Aside from laziness.

This whole issue with "people on the left" being in favor of mail-in voting truly stinks of just, opposite think of the other side, to be perfectly honest.

What about collecting and delivering the ballots safely and in a timely manner to election officials?
There is a term for that. "Ballot harvesting." It is legal in a few states.

The GOP insists its a corrupt practice and a dirty word besides.

This is interesting to note.

I think this is the first election where most of the support of a candidate wasn't about issues that the candidate presented, but who is is not.

I'd vote for a sock puppet on Michael Jackson's corpse's *** if it was an option over (any) trump.

I would be less embarrassed with a literal toilet plunger as the president over trump.

I would pick Covid over trump, at least Covid isn't dishonest about it's goals.

An inanimate object would do a less worse job.

You are too young to remember 1964 and 1968. There is no excuse for not remembering 1976 or 2008.

I was too young to remember 1976, I wasn't even born yet!

As for 2008, are you saying that the only reason why people voted for Obama was because he wasn't Bush, and had nothing to do with the empty promises he made, or the color of his skin?

A sizable portion of the vote every election is "he's not the other guy or the last guys party"

It's always one of the top issues.

Don't vote for Obama, vote against possibility of Palin

Again, you vastly overestimate the effect of Palin. Nobody could have pushed McCain into the winner's circle.

In my honest opinion, yeah, I really think at least the white people who voted for Obama did so mostly because he wasn't Republican. If you recall, like with Trump, our media did a really, really good job at blaming Bush for everything from 9/11 to natural disasters like hurricanes, or the reaction to them, even though later it was found that was much more in the lap of the governor of Louisiana than it was Bush. But, who owns the media, wins.

I think it's been made more than clear via focus groups and talking heads since that blacks mainly voted for Obama simply because he was black (and that big, fat D next to his name, they seem to think that's going to help them, too, against all evidence to the contrary).

Plus, our political system is really cyclical, "grass is greener" syndrome and all that. It's very common for Republican led House or Senate to sway the other direction after 4 years...and vice versa. People always just seem to think a "different" politician is going to change things for them...whether it's their party or their race or their gender, it all ends up being the same people once they get in office. Like how feminists seem to think having a female president is the cure to everything. It will just end up being some other person, bought by focus groups, telling us lies...but with different body parts.

Keep in mind, most Americans really do not research their candidates. They watch whatever "news" source that they agree with most and whoever that source says is the good guy, they just blindly vote for them.

I mean you can see it just on these forum discussions the past few months. Now I'll admit, personally, I think those on the left this year are MUCH more "passionate" about their hate and rage and they've really flip-flopped a ton of their past ideologies to basically become the monster they supposedly hate, but it doesn't mean those on the right have not also ignored some glaringly obvious negatives about their candidate as well.

But, since I lean conservative in my later years, I do think a lot of the conservative "defense" of Trump comes more from the constant and often ridiculous attacks from those left of center politically, not from their love of Trump...and I do notice conservatives are much more apt to criticize Trump than liberals are to criticize any of their politicians.
