You can't just label everyone an idiot that doesn't agree with you

You can when they disagree with medical professionals.

Regardless, the numbers show the virus is nowhere near as bad as it was made out to be, not even close.

What numbers kireek? Which projections have turned out to be wrong?

Also, the disinformation video Draylo is touting has nothing to do with "disagreeing with medical professionals," that's far too kind of a description.

That has nothing to do with the amount of deaths nor the projection models.

Right now the USA is over 80k deaths, most projection models had us at 100k by August. You can say those models were wrong because we will hit that number by the end of May. But that's not the kind of wrong you are looking for if your trying to say covid hasn't been bad.

SARS-Cov-2 was/is bad. We still need to try to avoid catching it. And it's fair to say some places were hit really hard, much wore than others.

But it's also not false to say that the governments did overestimate how many beds they would need in some other places if field hospitals are closing without ever being used and nurses are dancing for tiktok.

Do you think its better to be overprepared during a pandemic rather than underprepared? Building those field hospitals didn't hurt anybody. We have people here that are saying covid-19 doesn't even exist. We also have people that are denying how bad it really is.

I didn't say that either.

Look, if a hurricane is coming you board up your windows and take shelter. Then, if the hurricane changes course, you don't lament having boarded your windows, but you don't also stay locked down forever. Normal people will cautiously go back outside with an umbrella and monitor the situation.
In this case, that means masks, staying 6ft apart, and no mass gatherings. But you should cautiously see about getting back to work. Especially if you are in food or medicine production.

There were zero over estimations. You always plan for worst case scenario. Also, remember, the numbers are only low because action was taken. The projection was based on current policy, when no action was being taken. Turns out when you do shelter in place and implement a shut down, less people die. Who knew, doing what you were supposed to actually works?

Ftfy. I am well aware of all the conspiracies that are denying the death toll. They would be amusing, akin to the voter fraud conspiracies, were it not for the fact people are dying.

Youre talking about a Medicare program and it hasn’t reported fraudulence by hospitals “yet”.

So your point is off. Not everyone being treated and dying in the US is on Medicare.

You might want to reconsider the application of logic your source of information is applying to reality.

If it really was a blanket policy like you keep inferring we would have far more than 80,000 reported deaths associated to CoViD 19.

There were projections of over a million deaths. We may still near that depending. However, the projection was before the government started to respond and take it seriously, back when trump was still saying it wasnt a real threat and before he implemented any policy.

The number comes from the rate of infection and what would happen if a population of the United States at 340 Million got infected with a mortality rate of 1% (3.4 Million) if no measures are taken.

Edit: Even then at the time of the estimation it was based off of information from China. However at the moment the rate based off the resolved cases is definitely not 1%.

You'll have to forgive me, with so many news stations reporting various accounts of various fictional events its hard to keep up. I did however find this information online, its very informative and helps prevent Wuhan Virus apparently

Ah, yeah, no. 2million havnt died yet globally. Still time to hit that number if all these people wanna reopen. Treatments are still likely half a year+ away.

The mortality rate is fluid. Its important to remember death rates for everything are artificially low because of modern medicine. If hospitals are overwhelmed dealing with something, such as everyone catching covid all at once because no one is taking precautions, death tolls will rise exponentially as our system to handle things falls apart. Mortality rate for everything rises exponentially if you cannot treat people.

Well I think the biggest problem with figuring out the US mortality rate right now is our testing system is still way behind what it needs to be. It has improved, slowly, over the last couple of weeks but we are still nowhere near the 500k per day that scientists have pushed for. Don't tell that to Trump tho.

What testing system? The hospital in Michigan that was exposed by their employees for setting up fake testing stations for the CBS Morning Show at the request of the CBS Morning Show the other day that you ignored? Also show us on the doll where Trump touched you

Exactly, even if his conspiracy has some truths in it, it means absolutely nothing. Thats why they are called conspiracy theories, they find one little kernel then apply it to the entire country.

You always plan for worst case scenario. Also, remember, the numbers are only low because action was taken. The projection was based on current policy, when no action was being taken. Turns out when you do shelter in place and implement a shut down, less people die. Who knew, doing what you were supposed to actually works?
EVERYONE KNOWS ALL OF THIS ALREADY. YOU AREN'T SMART FOR POINTING OUT THE OBVIOUS.

If you knew this, you wouldnt have said most of what you said in this thread.
Wtf did I say? That people who work in food and medicine manufacturing should cautiously try going back to work and that everyone should wear masks, social distance and avoid large gatherings? HERESY!

They never stopped working, given they are deemed necessary.

But no, you made stupid comments and continue to make them about how rural states should be taking this on a case by case basis and not everywhere needs to shut down. That argument died the moment it left china. There is no alternative option other than all non essentials shut down. Doesnt matter how many cases you may or may not have, you shut down.
